Welcome to New Covenant! We believe God is good all the time and we gather on Sundays to celebrate His goodness. We are really glad you have decided to join us today!

If you are new to New Covenant be sure to visit our Welcome Centre in the lobby to receive a special gift and a brochure designed to answer some of the questions you are probably asking and to help you get the most out of your first few visits.

This handout is our monthly communications brochure and is designed to make you aware of everything that is happening at NC. Feel free to participate in as much or as little as you are ready for.

Our hope is that as you take the next step into the New Covenant community and get more involved, you will begin to see that NC is more than just a Sunday Morning celebration; it is a family of everyday people following Jesus together to bring hope and change to the world - one life at a time.

Our Purpose:Celebrating God’s goodness!

Our Mission:Helping one another to Encounter God, be Equipped by His Word, and Empowered by His Spirit to live a life that celebrates God.

So you’ve been coming to NC for a while and now find yourself at church most Sundays. You really enjoy the Sunday celebrations but feel you are now you ready for more. If you want to connect relationally, or grow spiritually you should join a Home Church.

Home churches are groups of 8-12 adults which meet weekly to build relationships, explore the Bible, and support one another through prayer. As a result you will experience, accountability, belonging and care.

While they don’t all happen in homes they all help you to feel more at home at NC. When you are ready to grow spiritually and connect relationally step out of your Sunday morning row and into a Home Church.

Here is a list of some of the Home Churches that are happening this season.

Eight Things Christians SHOULD Be Known For by Jarrid Wilson (jarridwilson.com)

Continued from last month. To see the first four attributes on the list see last month’s ‘theloop’ or visit jarridwilson.com

It seems that today’s Christians are more known by what they are against than for. And although there are plenty of things

God has called us to turn our backs to, I strongly believe our holy anthem should be chorused by what we are for.

5. Sacrifice (John 3:16)The sacrifice made on the cross showcases the immeasurable amount of sacrifice that God presented toward his people. And while we will never be able to match the magnificent sacrifice that took place almost 2,000 years ago, this isn’t to say we must not continue the legacy set before us. Christians should be known for their selflessness and sacrifice. A quality that will reflect an image of our Father in heaven.

6. Selflessness (Philippians 2:4)Do you give only to hopefully receive, or do you give out of the abundance of your heart? The idea of selflessness presents a picture that says, “Whatever you need, I’m here to give it

to you.” Selflessness is an attribute that puts others before yourself, and God before everyone else. Although it may not always be the easiest of tasks, showcasing selflessness says more about your heart than you might think. Everything we have was never really ours to begin with.

7. Commitment (Matthew 5:37)When we as Christians say we will do something, we should make sure we follow through with the act. Although we all make mistakes and fall short, reflecting an image of Jesus’ commitment to others showcases one of His greatest attributes. In the ways of Christ, we must show the world we can be trusted, and that our word will not be broken.

8. Respect (1 Peter 2:17)We may come across people with differing views than us, but this doesn’t mean we can’t be respectful in our action of disagreement. Today’s media coverage feeds off of disrespectful Christians, highlighting stories that provoke many of us to stand back and say, “I would never do that!” We must be known as a community of respectful people, who even in disagreement can show love and grace.

How are you doing? Which attributes are you doing the best in? Which attributes could use the most work? When is it hardest to demonstrate each attribute? Find a friend or two and meet for a coffee to discuss and pray for one another.
