Welcome to New Covenant! We believe God is good all the time and we gather on Sundays to celebrate His goodness. We are really glad you have decided to join us today!

If you are new to New Covenant be sure to visit our Welcome Centre in the lobby to receive a special gift and a brochure designed to answer some of the questions you are probably asking and to help you get the most out of your first few visits.

This handout is our monthly communications brochure and is designed to make you aware of everything that is happening at NC. Feel free to participate in as much or as little as you are ready for.

Our hope is that as you take the next step into the New Covenant community and get more involved, you will begin to see that NC is more than just a Sunday Morning celebration; it is a family of everyday people following Jesus together to bring hope and change to the world - one life at a time.

Our Purpose:Celebrating God’s goodness!

Our Mission:Helping one another to Encounter God, be Equipped by His Word, and Empowered by His Spirit to live a life that celebrates God.

On Sunday, May 3 we will be receiving a special offering that will be used to make exciting improvements to our lobby. The improvements will include a living room style area for NC Community Groups to meet for Bible study, several other conversation areas with more comfortable seating, television monitors which can be used to promote NC ministries to groups from our community who rent the building, as well as changes to improve the visibility of our Welcome Centre. If we have a great response we also hope to build a cafe!

The lobby is the most used area in the building and the first space guests and groups from outside NC experience. The Day of Pay in May Campaign is an opportunity for you to partner with your NC family to better position us to reach our city. Research shows that most guests have decided if they will return to a church within the first seven minutes of their visit. That’s before they’ve heard a word from the pastor or a note from the worship team. We only get one chance to make a good first impression. Let’s put our best foot forward.

If we all sacrifice a little we can get a lot done together! We are asking each family to consider giving the equivalent of one day’s wages. You can give more and you can give less but if we all sacrifice at this level we will be able to complete the lobby and maybe even have a little left over for other projects.

We will be sharing more information throughout April. Please prayerfully consider how you will support the Day of Pay in May Campaign.

12 Keys to a More Powerful Prayer Life by Rick Warren (www.pastors.com)

We began this list in January and February. To see the full list visit: pastors.com/12-keys-powerful-prayer-life/

9. The principle of REVELATION.This is the prayer that Jesus prayed on the cross. One of the seven last words of Christ was, “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they’re doing.” We can really learn a lot about Christ’s character here because He’s in agony. He’s in pain, yet He’s praying for other people. When you watch what other people say and do and pray when their back is up against the wall, it reveals what’s really inside of them. Prayer, like nothing else, is revelation of a person. It shows what’s inside the heart.

10. The principle of SATISFACTION. In Luke 22:46, “Jesus cried out with a loud voice, ‘Father, into Thy hands I commit My Spirit.’ When He said this, He breathed His last.” Jesus satisfied God the Father because He did what He was supposed to do. But more than just that, Jesus was satisfied Himself with what He had done. Because of that – that He had satisfied the Father and He was satisfied with Himself – He can satisfy every need that you will ever have. He said, “I’ve finished it all. It’s all complete.”

11. The principle of GRATIFICATION.Jesus expressed His gratitude for what God had done in His life. It says that when He was at the table with the twelve, He broke bread, He gave thanks and He broke it and began to give it to them. He gave thanks. This is probably the one sin that is the root of so many other sins – ingratitude. I believe our prayers should be filled with thanksgiving. In Philippians it says, “Make your requests with thanksgiving.” When we ask, we should also be grateful at the same time.

12. The principle of BENEDICTION.Luke 24:50 says, “When He had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, He lifted up His hands and He blessed them.” It’s interesting to me that the very last thing Jesus did was hold His hands out and He blessed them. He holds His hands out so they would see the scars that are in His palms. It is no wonder that when He went to bless them and held out His scarred hands that they went from there immediately and left to spend ten days in prayer.
