Prewriting

Prewriting helps the writer get ideas out of their head and onto paper.

Examples: Freewriting, brainstorming

Prewriting also helps the writer organize their thoughts and ideas.

Drafting is organizing your thoughts and putting them together to form sentences and paragraphs.

Revising is rearranging or rewriting your sentences and paragraphs to make sense to the reader.

What is editing?

Editing consists of correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization.

Editing ensures that your writing follows the rules of written English.

Their: possessive form of the word they

They're: contraction of “they” and “are”

There: at or in that place

Your is a possessive form of a personal pronoun.

Ex: I like your website.

You're: contraction of “you” and “are”
