Korean Language for International Opportunities Korean Language Programs at the Institute of International Education of Kyung Hee University Kyung Hee University was founded in 1949 under the principles of “Towards a New Civilization.” We have become one of the leading universities in Korea through our commitment to internationalization and globalization. Kyung Hee University provides excellent language programs and student exchange programs with an extensive network of international students and serves as a role model for other universities. The Institute of International Education maintains the role of providing excellent and successful Korean and cultural education programs within the campus for international students. The Institute of International Education (Seoul campus) is that specialized in providing intensive Korean and international language programs. Since 1993, approximately 6,000 students from 100 countries have participated in our programs every year. Kyung Hee University’s Korean Buddy (Helper) System The Institute of International Education puts much effort in providing practical support to International students with their studies and their everyday life through the international buddy system. Students learning Korean can meet with Korean students and have the chance to learn language authentically through conversations and receive support for their studies and everyday life here in Korea. Excellent Location and Service Kyung Hee University is situated 30 minutes away from places such as Myeongdong or Jongno, which are located in the center of Seoul. Kyung Hee University’s campus is also a famous location which frequently appears in movies, dramas, and commercials. Moreover, the university offers great service provided by kind staff and students which provide a pleasurable experience on campus. Various Cultural Programs Kyung Hee University provides various programs ranging from Taekwondo to Korean in Music, Korean in Movies and Korean Calligraphy. During the Spring and Fall semester, students can go on field trips with classmates. TOPIK administered by Kyung Hee University’s Institute of International Education TOPIK is the Test of Proficiency in Korean that foreigners who study Korean can take.
