NAME OUR NEW DIOCESAN MAGAZINE! In our efforts to increase communication and build community, the office of the diocese we will begin publishing a bi-monthly on-line and printed magazine. The magazine will highlight churches, outreach, faith, liturgy and Jesus Christ in the Diocese of Pennsylvania. A small mini-edition will published at the end of May. The people of the diocese are being asked to dream up and submit possible names for the magazine. Please send your submissions to Henry Carnes at [email protected] by 1 June 2017. The first mini-edition will be "nameless." Voting will begin June 15th through July 15th and the winning name announced on 1 August 2017.
HOUSE BUILDING IN HULMEVILLE
As you may know, Mrs. Harriet Black, who owned the hill in back of the church, passed away a little over a year ago. Her heirs are interested in selling the land. A couple of weeks ago, Hulmeville residents attended a borough council meeting to hear the plans of a developer who is interested in buying the land and convert it into 49 single family homes. The issue discussed at the meeting focused on how to access the 30 acres. There are three potential access points. One plan is to buy a home on Main Street, tear it down and run a street through from Main St. to the housing development. The other two involve accessing the land via Trenton Road. The sale (and the actual number of houses and location of them) is contingent on a number of factors. We just want you to be aware it is under discussion. Caroline Schauer
SAVE THE DATE! Aid for Friends meal building will be taking place around 9:00 am on Saturday, June 10 in the parish hall. Paula Epstein
