Let the Celebration Continue Last Sunday was certainly a true celebration Sunday. During the worship service, Paul
Naundorf, the Search Team chair, presented the recommendation of Jonathan Juedes for the church to consider for the position of Associate Pastor of Family Ministries. Jonathan and his
family will be here on the weekend of April 7 and will preach at both service on that Sunday. There will be opportunities for the church body to meet and interact with him on Friday,
Saturday and Sunday. The Search Team has worked diligently and prayerfully over the past months to find the person we believe God has prepared to help lead the Valley church family into the future God has in His heart for us.
The celebration did not stop there. We had our celebration fellowship to mark the commitments made toward the Changing Lives Capital Campaign. It was truly a celebration when we learned that $705,016 had been committed toward building of a new worship center,
youth center, Bible study and Sunday School classrooms and remodeling providing a new nursery, more office space and renovated spaces for preschool and children. This added to the
over $700,000 committed in the last campaign provides the $1,400,000 needed to make it possible to move forward with the planning for the building project.
Our hearts overflow with thanksgiving to God who faithfully provides. It will be amazing to
see in the next couple of years how God takes what has been placed in His hands and how He multiplies this far beyond anything we could imagine. We have much to celebrate.
Times of celebration are wonderful, but history shows that they hold an inherent danger.
Many of the catastrophic failures of God’s people came on the heels of great victories. Yet, we are not doomed to this fate. The scriptures urge us to look back at the failures of God’s
people, take warning and avoid their mistakes. 11 Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come. 12 Therefore let anyone who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. 13 No
temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of
escape, that you may be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:11-13 (ESV)
Our focus must remain on the mission God has given us of preparing people to meet Jesus. As our buildings get more and more crowded, even as we plan and build more space, we must lift
up our eyes and see that the fields are white unto harvest (John 4:35). As we celebrate the victories, we must be watchful and diligent knowing that our enemy prowls around looking for
whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). As we are involved in intense activity let us keep our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Be encouraged and challenged
by this conclusion of the Apostle Paul’s accounting of the reality of the resurrection, 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (ESV)

“…For as by the one man’s disobedience [Adam] the many were made sinners, so by the
one man’s obedience [Jesus] the many will be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19)
What does it mean to be a man? What is Biblical masculinity? The answer is found by contrasting the original Adam to the new Adam [Jesus].
Authentic Biblical manhood is not passive; it is responsible, courageous and invests in eternity. Come see how God unveils His desire and design
for manhood in this month’s video presentation, teaching time and table top discussion.
Manhood
We will be serving eggs and ham off the bone as our main entrée along with fruit, oatmeal, a yogurt bar with granola toppings, chilled juice, hot coffee and tea.

to make it a part of our lives. We will have opportunity to grow in intimacy with God by spending time with Him in His Word,
and we will have the blessing of fellowship as we meet to study and share together each week. Please join us!

Women’s Thursday Morning Bible Study
A Message from God: Light Living in Dark Days A flexible inductive study of 1 John by Pam Gillaspie
Thursdays April 11-May 23
9:00-11:00 am
Valley Baptist Welcome Center
In our day, everything from music to politics is described as "Christian," but are they? Is Jesus what our society or
culture says He is? And who are the people who belong to Him? How can you know? Biblical truth can only be
understood straight from God's Word, not opinion polls.
In A Message From God: Light Living in a Dark World you'll unpack
1John in just seven weeks and see God's message for yourself without the "middleman" of others' opinions and ideas!
This study will include weekly homework, class discussion, and video teaching by Pam Gillaspie.
Sign-up sheets and books are available in the church lobby
For questions, contact Christina Warne at [email protected]
Childcare will be available for this study. Sign up at the table in the lobby. For questions, or to volunteer to serve in
childcare, contact Paula Weber 920-585-5196 or [email protected]
