A Letter from the LTGHello Ninja Turtles! The year’s almost half done already, and if you’ve been stressed out with all your work, I’m sure you’re excited for the holiday season and all the breaks that come with it. Take the time to stretch, relax, and enjoy your accomplishments. We brought 135 Key Clubbers and Builder’s Clubbers to Fall Rally, a major improvement from last year, and we finally had members from5 of our schools at events! We’ve also raised upwards of $800 for PTP, and served hundreds of hours. Keep up the great work, and I’ll see you lovelies soon.

Love, Jeffrey

Hey!

For those who went to fall rally, wasn’t it awesome?? Even though we didn’t get the spirit stick, I’m pretty sure we still showed the other divisions that we have just as much swag. Thanks to everyone who came! I had fun with screaming my head off and whacking the thundersticks.

It’s far off, but I can’t wait for DCON!

Happy Christmas everyone! Share the holiday spirit this month!

Love, Christine

San Marino’s UNICEF DriveEvery October, trick-or-treat

boxes can be seen in every San Marino classroom. Students donate any spare change that they have in order support UNICEF and Project Eliminate.

The goal of this is to eliminate maternal and neotal tetanus from the world. Kiwanis International joined with UNICEF for its goal to raise $110 million dollars by 2015. “Kiwanis believes that no baby or mother should have to suffer the devastating effects of MNT,” said Kiwanis International President Paul Palazzolo. This year, UNICEF

announced that it has eliminated MNT from China. Such a huge accomplishment like this is with thanks to students all across the country.

San Marino has raised many funds for UNICEF. This year, SMHS’s Key Club Cabinet hand decorated each box. To encourage our peers to donate, the top two classrooms earn a pizza party. The first placed class raised $345.81, a huge portion which are quarters.

Thanks to everyone who donated!

FALL RALLY

visuals by Alex Huang, Sheldon Choi, Simon Chau, and Yvonne Lin

Hey Key Clubbers! This past Fall Rally was a great day. The numerous “How

do you feel?” chants, spirit battles, and free hugs were fun, and unforgettable. Although we did not make it to the second round of the spirit session, we cheered for our sister division of 10 South, who won the spirit stick! We also bought back our own LTG Jeffrey Xiong. Although the lines for the rides were super long, and took forever, we still went on some, and had a bunch of fun. For my first ever Fall Rally, I have to say that it was a great success, and best of all, I love my LTG. L-O-V-E I love my LTG!

How do I feel? Well, I feel good, oh I feel so good! I feel fine, all of the time. Abooga, abooga, abooga, booga, booga! Whoot!

I just love how key clubbers never get tired of the cheer. No matter what the circumstances are, up-side down on a roller coaster or standing in line for food, the cheer brings light to people. Fall Rally was the definition of Key Club’s spirit and “Ohana” this year. Immediately, when I saw other Key Clubbers, we would come together like magnets and like a real family.

Definitely, I would say that this year, Fall Rally was the best and the most memorable. Seeing the Builders and Key Clubbers coming together to cheer in green and black, was amazing. Everyone was so passionate to raise money for PTP and cheer for our LTG. What set the difference this year, was that I did not take anything for granted. I enjoyed every single moment of the spirit rally and was really touched when everyone cheered for Division 10 South to support them. Even though we did not win the spirit stick, I believe we have worked hard enough and BEE-lieved hard enough to achieve that in

our hearts. This Fall Rally was

definitely a new beginning for all of us. It opened up others to Key Club, and for other Key Club officers, it was a new slate. Listening to the District Board’s and

Kiwanis’ inspiring words made us want to improve and make the Key Club experience for the members even better. Thank you Division 10 North and thank you Key Club, for a Saturday of a life time.

Love, Betty Wang

fact of the monthAt Fall Rally, LTGs and Executive officers are “auctioned” off to Divisions; the winning Division is able to then spend a designated period of time with the “purchased” officer. Auction funds and a portion of the ticket sales for both events go towards the Pediatric Trauma Program.
