The Transfiguration of the Lord August 6, 2017
O God, who in the glorious Transfiguration of your Only Begotten Son confirmed the mysteries of faith by the witness
of the Fathers and wonderfully prefigured our full adoption to sonship, grant, we pray, to your servants, that, listening to the
voice of your beloved Son, we may merit to become co-heirs with him.
186 of 1123 families(17%) were collected using envelopes. Thanks to those who practice Sacrificial Giving and give of their time, talent and treasure as an act of profound Christian stewardship.

August 13th—Family Sunday Meeting Sunday, August 13th will be our kickoff of our new Elementary CCD program. Our parents and students will meet at 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Following the meeting each month, parents and students will attend 11:00 a.m. Mass. This may cause a little crowdedness in our church. If you think you would be uncomfortable with a larger than usual 11:00 a.m. Mass, then you might want to attend one of the other three weekend Masses. Each month we will announce one week prior to the Family Sunday to remind you about this event.
Congratulations to Our Parish Family! This weekend our parish will celebrate 20 years of Eucharistic Adoration in our church. We would like to thanks all those that have participated in this ministry for all 20 years. Our parish is blessed with 18 individuals who have been in this ministry since the beginning and currently still serving today. We would
also like to invite everyone who would like to join this ministry once a week. You can choose your convenient time to spend with the Lord. Please consider starting a dedication to Almighty God each week. There are so many benefits — spiritual, emotional, and physical — to spending time with Me. Yet many of My children think this is a luxury they cannot afford. Even though they crave rest and quietness, they continue in their fast-paced lifestyle. I want you to arrange your priorities in such a way that you can have some restful times with Me. I will refresh your soul and strengthen you for the journey that lies ahead.

Pro Life Rosary Our next Rosary of the Seven Sorrows will be held this Monday, August 7th in church at 5:15 p.m. Everyone is invited to join our parish family in prayer. Our intention for this month is for: “For those serving jail sentences because of
their desire to protect the unborn”
To the parish family of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Pax vobiscum! (Peace be with you!) There are so many things to thank you for, so I shall start with a general "Thank you all so much." In the short time I spent in Coteau, I was immersed in kindness and generosity. I know that I can be assured of your prayers and support. You are an example of Christian faith, hope, and love for not only myself, but to all who pass through. My time there was very short, but my memory of you will last to the end of my days. I hope to visit when I can in the future, but for now I shall just say thank you from the bottom of my heart and pray for your continued growth in the Christian life. May God bless you always, Brent Didier, Seminarian for the Diocese of Lafayette.
