East Area Test Beams

The T9 and T10 beam lines are mixed beams.Their maximum flux is 106 per EASTA cycle. Both beams are served from a common target, together also with the T11 beam for CLOUD.The flat top is 0.4 seconds. The number of EASTA cycles is defined by the physics coordinator, depending on the overall schedule, but is normally 2 per super-cycle. When CLOUD runs up to 3.

Each beam line is equipped with 1 (T10) or 2 (T9)threshold Cerenkov counters, a scintillator anda Delay wire chamber.

Required preparation steps

• Contact me in time with all questions. Organise a visit in T9.We will then also fix details of the layout of your installation.

• All participants must have a dosimeter and the basic safety training• Submit ISIEC form• Let us know if you need X/Y tables. They need to be booked.• Contact us if you need gas and also your FGSO if you need flammable gas• Take appointment (well before run) for patrol right training,

2-3 persons will be authorised• When your installation is ready contact B.Pichler for a safety visit• Organise a beam training for the team at the start of your beam time• Look at the East Area web page where you will find lots of useful details:
