Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ

We are celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus And while this is tremendously exciting it is also

a time to look at what Jesusrsquo Resurrection means for us in our every-day lives even as Easter

Sunday has come and gone

The disciples needed to figure out what to do with the Resurrection They had locked themselves

in a room for fear of the Jewish authorities but Jesus appeared to them and told them ldquoPeace be

with you As the Father has sent me I am sending yourdquo Essentially Jesus said ldquoyou know I

am risen not get out of this room and get about the work of the Kingdomrdquo

Now we all want to be part of the work of Godrsquos kingdom of Grace and we also want to

participate in the mission of God The question is ldquoHOWrdquo How can I serve my God and love

my neighbor in a way that shares the love of Christ I have gone to countless conferences seen so many studies

participated in so many classes on this subject Most of the time I leave feeling worse than when I went in

Recently however I came across a great book written by an LCMS Pastor Rev Greg Finke that presents being an

ldquoevery-dayrdquo missionary in a way that makes me think ldquoHey I could do thisrdquo and even more amazing ldquothis can be funrdquo

I was so moved by this book that we are going to be doing a series call ldquoTHE ART OF NEIGHBORINGrdquo based upon

Finkersquos book Joining Jesus on His Mission The series will go from April 15 though May 20 We have 150 copies of

the book for sale at a discount Pick up a book any time you are at St Andrews for $10 (you can just put the money in the

offering) This will be a great series that you wonrsquot want to miss

Blessings in Christ
