ANote from the Superintendent

For nearly five decades, Shore Regional High School has produced stellar graduates who have gone on to accomplish truly amazing things. I have no doubt, that amongst the students who have begunthe 2010-2011 school year, there are many who will

follow similar paths to great success. Just as ourrenowned graduates have positively impacted theworld around them, current Shore Regional stu-dents make daily strides in bettering themselves byembracing all the district has to offer.

This time of annual excitement should not bedampened by the lingering negativity of recent politi-cal actions. Legislation and governance will alwaysimpact public education, however, Shore RegionalHigh School District remains committed to ensuringevery student receives an extraordinary educationregardless of Trentonʼs upheavals.

With referendum construction and materialshaving reached near completion, a noticeably freshatmosphere radiates within the schoolʼs hallways.Students, faculty and staff put forth exemplary con-duct in making last yearʼs construction non-issueand admirably succeeded in minimizing encoun-tered disruptions. As envisioned, the structural im-provement of the school has further enhanced thedistrictʼs ability to educate the whole person to be“self aware, culturally aware, and involved in life-long learning.”

Welcome back to all our returning students andbest wishes for continued success to all our dis-trictʼs stakeholders.

Sincerely,

A TRADITION OF SUCCESS

Two enormously productive years have passedsince initiating the first stage of the current referendumproject. Over the course of these twenty-four months, careful planning, collaborative efforts and diligent work amongst all of the district’s faculty, staff and the firmsinvolved has seen the project progress smoothly andefficiently. As Shore Regional begins another academicyear, it is truly heartening to offer daily proof of thismassive project’s success.

As students, faculty and staff have already noticed, the building’s climate-control devices are now in place

and primed for use during the fall. Thermostat and electrical testing that occurred overthe summer months confirms the efficiency-boosting and cost-saving nature of the proj-ect. From the automated, eco-friendly lighting to the new, modified natural gas system, the building has experienced major overhauls. As of fall 2010, Shore Regional can claimthat 100% of the incoming, billed power is 100% distributed. The antiquated, unsafeboiler has been hauled away, and in its place now stands a modern, cost-efficient devicethat will accommodate building climate unlike ever before in the school’s history.

Much thought went into the referendum and continues to be given toward its com-pletion. Clean, vibrantly painted classrooms, sturdy, climate-friendly doors, automatedeco-lighting; all of these accoutrements cumulatively have brought the building’s interiorinto respectable condition. Work to dynamically refurbish the auditorium is nearing thefinal stage and plans are underway to complete an overhaul of the gymnasium’s bleach-ers within the near future.

On an additional note, district residents will be pleased to know that during the2010-2011 school year, Shore Regional will continue to orchestrate cost-saving meas-ures such as shared busing, food-service contracts, and curriculum articulation.

Once again, I extend my sincere gratitude to all the district’s stakeholders for theirpatience, support and inquiries. Assisted by your goodwill, we can succeed in makingShore Regional High School the best it has ever been.

Sincerely,

Dennis W. Kotch, Business Administrator
