“ By simplifying both the plot and Jack’s character, the film presents a story in which the protagonist-villain quickly goes insane and attacks his loving family. No palliating conditions apply, and we are thus invited to root wholeheartedly against Jack. “ (Jenkins, 1997,158)

“In these special instances, one senses a compensation the does not ordinarily obtain in the world of adaptation: words have been substituted for actions. Sometimes an image may be more richly developed, as with Grady’s unfortunate daughters in the shining…” (Jenkins, 1997,160)

The shining had created many simply but psychological fear elements .By the madness of Jack and also a readable scene of unfortunate twins standing in the corridor. The scene was created in the united colours and tones with one perspective camera showing the space of depth and the stable picture of the twins. As they don’t have any actions, it could be seen as another kind of silence in vision rather than sounds.

“…and one feels as The shining ends that the cycle will repeat anew.”(Muir, 2007,134)

By the ending of the film, camera zoomed back to a picture on the wall in the hotel taken by 1921, 60 years before the dead of Jack. This

can be seen as a cycle that from the past to now and the future that Jack always stay in the hotel forever and ever. This is uncomfortable to audiences by creating a suspense ending. This brought up the line of the story that Jack is always the caretaker of the hotel and the relationship between him and the people were murdered. As this is an anew of the cycle to gain a question about is Jack really died in the snow or that is just another journal of his life.
