Editorial
If your world looks gloomy
And you are feeling grim and glum,
Make a rainbow for yourself,
Don’t wait for one to come,
Don’t sit watching at the window
For the clouds to part
There’ll soon be a rainbow
If you start one in your heart.

CREATIVE SECTION
Dear Father….
I would like to thank you for all that you have
given me,
The rights, the privileges and my school fee.
You have given me the things which I need.
Without taking from me even a pea.
You have given me the love and blessings and
also your gentle pushing.
I would ask god to do me a favour.
By giving you to me forever.
This would be a good favour to me, because you
are very special to me.
You have given me so much,
But not taken even stuff.
No matter whatever I do,
Dad I always will be thankful to you.
-Shailja, (VII C)
There are three constants in
life…Change, Choice and
Principles.
Life is the sum of all your choices.
Aristotle was the first to attempt to define life
and his proposal boils down to life being
something that grows and maintain itself and
reproduces. Life does have substantial meaning
and it is worth living. There are in fact a range
of practical steps we can take to ensure we end
up leading a meaningful life. There isn‟t any
kind of goal written in the stars, in a holy book
or in sequences of DNA. In fact, as Heraclitus,
the Greek philosopher said there is nothing
permanent except change. Your height, looks,
clothes and even the choice of shoes have
undergone a change.
Change is very important for all of us to become
a better person in life. We expect the seasons to
change, children to grow taller, birthdays to keep
coming year after year, we expect to grow older.
We all face changes every day whether it is a
simple change of the weather, what we choose to
eat that day. Sometimes there is change that
10
jumps out of nowhere and totally shakes you to
the core.We need to embrace the changes that
life has in store for us. We just have to always
keep in mind that life truly is what we make of
it. “Change is not pleasant sometimes, but
change is constant. Only when we change and
grow, we will see a world we never know.”
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast
a stone across the water to create many ripples”,
said Mother Teresa.
Now let me talk about the second constant of life
that is choice. If we delay a decision, the
opportunity is gone forever. We might not have
control over circumstances. But we have a
choice about how we view the circumstances
and make the ultimate choice. We always have a
choice over things in every situation same as the
choice of food we eat, the choice of clothes we
want to wear. Same as that, we have our own
choices in life also. It is us, who choose which
path is to be followed in our lives. The right or
wrong. Opting the wrong choice once can affect
your life drastically.” Be miserable or motivate
yourself, whatever has to be done, it‟s always
your choice “Your choice decides the life you
will be living. „Life is a matter of choices, and
every choice you make makes you‟.
The next constant that Stephen R. Covey talks
about and I am going to elaborate is- Principles.
The Oxford dictionary defines principles as the
fundamental norms, rules or that represent what
is desirable and positive for a person, group,
community and help it in determining the
rightfulness or wrongfulness of its actions.
These are the norms which an individual creates
and follows to make his life meaningful and
helps in to be a better individual in the long run.
Creating principles for your life is not difficult
but following them and ensuring that nothing
overpowers them is a million-dollar task. “It is
easier to fight for one‟s principles than to live up
to them.”.
- Prakriti Dabral (XI-B)
The True Meaning Of Life
The years have passed by,
In the blink of an eye
Moments of sadness
And joy have flown by
People I loved
Have come and have gone
But the world never stopped
And we all carried on
Life wasn’t easy for me
And the struggles were there
Filled with times that it mattered
Times I just didn’t care
I stood on my own
And I just still found my way
Through some nights filled with tears,
And the dawn of new days
And now with old age
It’s become very clear
Things I once found important
Were not why I was here
And how many things
That I managed to buy
Were never what made me
Feel better inside
And how much more kindness
And love I can show
Before the lord tells me
It’s time to go
