In the past week the Foodbank have fed 143 people. Advent Talks On 20th November we begin a four week series of Advent talks marking the 100th Anniversary of the end of the 1914-1919 war. Based on Major John McRae's poem 'In Flanders fields' there will be an address followed by Compline. The series will be held in the Mews beginning at 7.30pm. Christingle Making Please join us from 9am on Friday 6th Dec. in Church, to help assemble our Christingle oranges. All helpers will be liberally supplied with tea/ coffee and mince pies! Contact Teresa Finney: 889311 for more info. Men’s Breakfast The next men’s Breakfast will be on Wednesday 11th December 8.30am at The Red Lion, Little Budworth. Please sign the list at the back of the churches. St Mary’s Churchyard Advance notice - there will a working party to tidy up the Churchyard at St Mary's on Saturday 25th January 9.30-11.00am. We need to move some fallen stones and also clear the Churchyard of Christmas items. Please come along to help keep our Churchyard safe and tidy. Christmas Lights Switch On Saturday 7th December at 5.30 p.m. on Church Green Whitegate & Marton Parish Council invites you to the switch on of our Christmas lights, with carols on the Green and mulled wine and mince pies in The Mews. St. Peter’s Mothers Union Our Christmas project this year is

Handbags for Homeless Women. Good second hand SHOULDER bags which are filled with specific basic essentials

for women are being sent to CATH and the Salvation Army. A full list of

the items is in the November magazine and in church where a sample bag can be seen. Donations of the individual

items would also be appreciated. Please contact Diana for more details.

Closing date 10th December.

Thank You A huge ‘Thank You’ To everyone who

helped run and those who supported the Autumn Fair last Saturday. £887.95 was raised!

British Legion Poppy Appeal

Our sale of poppies at St Mary's made a total of £84.85 this year

and contributed to a total collection in Whitegate & Delamere District

of £2,276.15. Thank you to everyone for your support.

Knit & Natter Christmas Holidays

Knit and Natter will meet as usual on Monday 9th December 2.30pm till 4.00pm in the Church Room for the final time this

year. It will then resume after the Christmas Festivities on Monday

6th January 2020. We have already decided on our project

for next year and it is suitable for all abilities of knitters so call in and have a look for yourselves and if you are not a

knitter you are just as welcome to join us for a cuppa and a natter. Wishing everyone

a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
