HIS MERCY IS EVERLASTING. The Liturgy this Sunday is centered on the theme of Mercy. Psalm 118 repeats it several times “His Mercy is Everlasting.” The Gospel describes how the Risen Christ appears to the Apostles on Easter night and, calms them, greeting them with His peace “Shalom” and bestowing it upon them. He shows them the marks of His Passion: His hands and His side. His glorified body keeps the evidence of His work of salvation through His suffering, death, and resurrection. At his time, He presents His desire, telling them: “Receive the Holy Spirit.” He gives the apostles, the power of God’s mercy for the sinner; He makes us one in Him: “at the community of believers all were of one mind and one heart.”

From Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday and until the last day of the “Octave of Easter,” the song of love to the Divine Mercy is sung in midst of many “Alleluias.” For centuries, the liturgy of the Church has proclaimed the Mercy of God through his Word, in the reception of the sacrament of His Most Holy Body and Blood. When we are invited to this banquet, God is calling all of us, without any distinctions. He loves us, and He makes it clear that He will be there for us always! Our Parish has just celebrated a beautiful Holy Week, where we all felt the kind invitation to renew our spiritual and sacramental life. Our Liturgies were filled with solemnity, sobriety, happiness and hope. We were especially filled with the living presence of His Universal Church. You are the living stones that gave that special touch to each Liturgy. Together with our deceased brothers and sisters of the New Jerusalem, all of us will enjoy the praises and glory of the Risen Lamb.

I am very grateful for all those who in in one way or another contributed their time, talents, and treasure so that everything in our parish could be presented to our Risen Lord as the best we have to offer, because He truly deserves everything! Thanks to all those who during Lent, added their own bit, so we could celebrate with great devotion and faith The Way of the Cross, the message of reflection, the education of our children; the great participation and good spiritual preparation in every area. I am grateful for all those who contributed in the preparation of Holy Week, those who served with love and dedication, the choirs and the director, the musicians, the ushers; those who offered and helped with refreshments, and those who put forth their talents to decorate our worship sites and to keep them clean. There is an army of volunteers, and without you, all that we have achieved would have been impossible. To mention them all would be very long: You have all left your stamp in the history of our beautiful community. To all, Many, Many Thanks!

It is not easy to abandon our faith, as it is not easy to do God’s will at every moment; it is not easy to know that not always are our ideas the best. It is not easy to live in a kind of world like ours, where everything is relative. It was not easy to die on the Cross either, but everything in life has a purpose. The field of Mercy is not an easy field, but even in the wasteland of our environment, we can find a reason to hope and to exist. May God, who loves us without measure and hopes for the best from us, bless you abundantly during this Easter Season. “Peace be with you.” Fr. Caesar

SU MISERICORDIA ES ETERNA: Toda la liturgia de este domingo se centra en el tema de la misericordia. El Salmo 118 nos lo repite varias veces: "“Su misericordia es eterna”. El Evangelio describe como el Cristo resucitado se aparece a los apóstoles en la noche de Pascua y calma a sus discípulos dándoles paz. Él les muestra las cicatrices de su pasión, sus manos y su costado. Su cuerpo glorificado conserva la evidencia de su obra de salvación por medio de su sufrimiento, muerte y resurrección. Él, a su vez, transmite su deseo diciendo: “Reciban el Espíritu Santo.” Él da a los apóstoles el poder de la misericordia de Dios para el pecador. Él nos hace uno solo: en la comunidad todos tenían una sola mente y corazón.

Desde el Jueves Santo al Domingo de Pascua y hasta el octavo día de Pascua, la canción de amor a la misericordia se canta en medio de abundantes aleluyas. Durante siglos, la liturgia de la Iglesia ha proclamado la misericordia de Dios a través de su Palabra y en la recepción del Sacramento del Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo. Cuando somos invitados al Banquete, Dios nos llama a todos por igual, nos ama, y nos da a entender que siempre estará con nosotros. En nuestra Parroquia, acabamos de celebrar en la Vigilia una bellísima Semana Santa, donde todos nos sentimos llamados e invitados a renovar nuestra vida sacramental. Nuestras liturgias estuvieron llenas de solemnidad, decoro, alegría, esperanza y sobre todo de la presencia viva de la Iglesia. Ustedes piedras vivas dieron a cada liturgia un toque especial, con nuestros hermanos difuntos de la Nueva Jerusalén, todos gozamos en alabanza al Resucitado.

Gracias a todos los que de una u otra manera pusieron su esfuerzo para que todo en nuestra parroquia fuera lo mejor que Dios merece. Gracias a quienes desde la Cuaresma, pusieron ese gran grano de arena para que nos moviéramos en un ambiente recogido con las estaciones del Vía Crucis, con los mensajes de reflexión, con la educación de nuestros niños, la participación y buena preparación espiritual en todas las áreas; gracias a todos aquellos que ayudaron en las preparaciones de la liturgia de la Semana Mayor, y sirvieron en ellas con cariño y dedicación; gracias a los coros, a los músicos y a sus directores, a los niños. Gracias a aquellos que pusieron sus manos y sus talentos para decorar y mantener nuestros lugares preciosos para la gloria de Dios y el bienestar de Su pueblo, a los ujieres, quienes limpian nuestros santuarios y nuestros lugares de oficio; sin ese ejército de voluntarios hubiera sido imposible tener un buen sonido, unos estacionamientos ordenados, unos altares y sitios de culto decorados, y un café y pan en el momento oportuno. Todos ustedes han dejado una huella escrita en la historia de esta bella comunidad. Por su tiempo, su ayuda, su dedicación y su ofrenda: GRACIAS.

No es fácil abandonar la vida en la fe, no es fácil hacer la voluntad de Dios en todo momento, no es fácil saber que muchas veces nuestras ideas no son las mejores, no es fácil convivir en un mundo donde todo parece tan relativo. No fue fácil tampoco morir en la Cruz, pero todo en la vida tiene un propósito. El terreno de la misericordia no es un terreno fácil, pero aún en la aridez de nuestro entorno, se puede encontrar una razón para esperar y una razón para existir. El Dios que nos ama profundamente y espera de nosotros lo mejor, les bendiga en este tiempo Pascual. " La paz sea con ustedes" P. Cesar

You can also come and join us on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 for the annual Operation Dreamlift sponsored by the Mercer County Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation.
