The Old ManorThe Old Manor is a wonderful period country house which has been beautifully renovated and improved by the current owners to provide excellent accommodation. Throughout are many period features including exposed floorboards, beams, open fireplaces, sash windows and shutters.

The entrance hall has a mosaic tiled floor with stairs rising to a galleried landing. The Kitchen has been remodelled and re-fitted with handmade units with oak work surfaces and a four oven Aga set within the inglenook and there are two pantry stores built in. Flagstone flooring runs throughout the kitchen and French doors open onto the walled rose garden to the side of the house. The kitchen opens into the dining room which has a wood burning stove fitted within a brick built recess. A large utility / laundry is well fitted with plenty of cupboards.

The three principal reception rooms all have attractive fireplaces with either wood burning stoves or open fires in place and have windows overlooking gardens to the front of the house. To the rear is a study that also has a door to the garden to the side of the house.

There are four bedrooms to the first floor, three of which have built in wardrobes and all having feature fireplaces. The main bedroom has a large en-suite with separate bath and shower whilst two other bath / shower rooms serve

the other bedrooms. These two bathrooms have underfloor heating throughout. To the second floor are a further two bedrooms and a shower room.

The property sits within beautiful grounds extending in total to just over three acres. It is accessed through wrought iron gates along a gravelled driveway which leads to the front of the house. There is also parking to the rear of the house adjacent to the courtyard and outbuilding.

The gardens lie mainly to the front of the house, predominantly laid to lawn with a number of mature trees providing landscaping. There is also an area of paddock. Outside, there are is a brick built outbuilding which provides useful storage and workshop space. Planning permission has also been granted for the erection of a double garage.

SituationThe Old Manor is situated on the fringe of the popular and picturesque village of Longdon upon Tern which is surrounded by beautiful Shropshire countryside and benefits from its own Public House, The Tayleur Arms. The historic County Town of Shrewsbury is located 11 miles North East of the property and provides a comprehensive range of shopping, leisure and social facilities. Both Shrewsbury and Telford offer a number of highly regarded state, preparatory and public schools including Prestfelde, Kingsland Grange, Shrewsbury School, Old Hall, Wrekin College, Shrewsbury High School and Shrewsbury Sixth Form College. Road links are excellent with both the A5 and A49 providing access North to Chester and South West to Shrewsbury. The M54 can be accessed at Telford (7 miles) and provides access East to the West Midlands, where the M6 and the National motorway network beyond. Rail links can be found at both Telford and Shrewsbury with services to Chester, Birmingham New Street and London Euston. National airports are also within reasonable driving distance at Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
