Setting

• This story took place in Emily Dickinson Middle School. Some of it took place in the hallway by Nick’s locker, when he was getting shoved in it by Roy. The Safety Patrol Meetings were in the school’s basement, in Mr. Dupree’s office. They were also in Dr. Daniel’s office, the school’s principal. This is where Nick ,Molly and Karl first met. They also snuck into Mr. Daniel’s office to look at Roy’s file to find out what he was afraid to lose.

In the Odd Squad there is a boy named Nick, he is always getting bullied. He is always getting shoved in his locker. Nick is the smallest boy in the school. One day when Nick got shoved in his locker Mr. Dupree, the school custodian, found him. Nick didn’t like to tell on Roy so when Mr. Dupree asked who did it, Nick just shrugged. Nick was paired into a group. It was called the Safety Patrol. There was also a boy named Karl and a girl named Molly. Nick, Molly and Karl were all in this group because they were not part of any group and they were all getting bullied. Mr. Dupree said if you are getting bullied it means that you are not part of any group. Since they were now a part of a group, the Safety Patrol, they were no longer getting bullied.

Recommendation

• I recommend this book for boys and girls because it is a funny book and a lot of people like to laugh. I think anyone would enjoy this book. In this book it teaches you that friends are important.
