About The PSCRB Course PSCRB stands for Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat. At this training, you will learn about Safety Guide Lines, Ship Emergencies, Abandoning the Ship, Personal Lifesaving Appliances, Rescue Operation, Life Boats, Life Boat Launching Devices / Appliances, Life Rafts, Location Aids, Signals and Signs in an Emergency.
This STCW course has been developed for seafarers who are responsible for the survival crafts and rescue boats during an emergency situation. By following this training participants should be able to be in charge of the survival craft or rescue boat during and after launching. Besides this the delegates will learn how to deal with the crew members, the rescue boat and provide first aid after abandoning the ship.
On completion of the training, trainees will have knowledge of the construction and function of different types of survival craft, rescue boats and associated equipment and be able to:

Where are we holding Class?
The Training Davit is on Pier 91 and we will be there each afternoon. The classroom portion of the course is held in one of three places in the Port of Seattle Area. It all depends on the day and date of the class you are taking.

• take charge of survival craft or a rescue boat during and after launch and upon recovery
• manage survivors and survival craft after abandoning ship
• manage injured persons
• be able to operate a survival craft engine
• know the correct use of all locating devices, including communication and signaling apparatus and pyrotechnics
•how to apply first aid to survivors and the actions to take to preserve the lives of those in their charge.

What to bring to the class
Coming to class prepared is vital to course success. Please keep in mind we will be spending time outside possibly in adverse weather conditions.
Bring to Class:
• Rain Gear or Foul Weather Gear
• Jacket, gloves & hat are recommended
• Closed toe safety shoes (with toe protection) are required on the training davit.

From Elliot Ave. W going North; Take a right onto 14th St. and keep far left. Next, take a left onto Alaskan Way W. and continue through the gate.
From 15th Ave. W going South; Take a left onto 14th St. and keep left. Next, turn left onto Alaskan Way W. and continue through the gate.
