Oh, to be eight again! A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching his wife, who was looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not very far off he asked what she'd like to have for her birthday. 'I'd like to be eight again', she replied, still looking in the mirror. On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Coco Pops, and then took her to Adventure World theme park. What a day! He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Roller Coaster, everything there was. Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park. Her head was reeling, and her stomach felt upside down. He then took her to MacDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake. Then it was off to a Disney movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favourite sweets, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally, she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being eight again'? Her eyes slowly opened, and her expression suddenly changed. 'I meant my dress size, you @*#*! retard!!!!' The Bells of Australia Fred was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young 'pullets,' and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs. He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells. Fred's favourite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. To Fred's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. Fred was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Newcastle City Show and he became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pullet Surprise" as well. Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention. Vote carefully in the next election, you can't always hear the bells.

Folks, we had 11 cars with 17 Members turn up at Edgeworth Maccas, on a perfect day, all ready for our end of year Mid-week Christmas run. After being given instructions on the direction we were all eager to start, So Gary & Ruth lead off in their Mustang with the top down, and just kept on going, and going, and going, we got separated at the lights, but Gary just kept driving, we had some Road works to wait for, Gary just kept driving, they were out of sight, long gone to us, meanwhile, Andre with Bill as the last car to make sure no one got lost, which was just as well, or Andre might have taken the wrong turn, Bill put

his indictor on when Andre hesitated at Junctions etc., when Gary gets behind the wheel of the Mustang, he just goes. 😊

We finally made it to Freemans Water Hole, (did I tell you that we took the inroads, not the highway) where we met up with Ray and Janette, who are now members of the NRVC., Welcome to you both. What a lovely spot Budgewoi is, the breeze from the water made this spot fantastic. Well Ruth had some games for us to play, Coits was first up, so 4 teams of 3 members, were soon organized to provide lots of laughs, with Andre’s Team winning, While the Game, was happening, hmm, cheating, never, ha, some wanted points for hitting the pole with the coit, Next up, was a lovely table of nibblies then it was onto Croquet, hmmm, those mallets were used in many, different ways, Ruth insisted on batting sideways, well we were playing in Ruth’s words, Adult Games, that is all I am saying. Finally it was time for the Boys to organise the BBQ, what a great spread we had, salads, Coleslaw, cakes, bikies, oh and lollies, plus Drinks, a big Thank You to the NRVC for providing $100.00 for us to enjoy ourselves.

Awarded the Rare & Valuable NRVC Certificate to Rudy and June for their Christmas attire, while our little Member/mascot Kallen received his own special award. There is no Mid-week run in January, the next run will be in February, 2018, so stay tuned for more fun in 2018 on our Mid Week Runs, this brings me to say a big Thanks everyone, for your company, special

thanks to Gary & Ruth for taking charge of these wonderful days. 😊 MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL & A SAFE HAPPY 2018.

Worth noting. Even if you're not mechanically inclined. "Machinist's Workshop" recently published information on various penetrating oils. The magazine reports they tested these products for "break out torque" on rusted nuts and bolts. A subjective test was made of popular penetrating oils, with the unit of merit being the torque required to remove the nut from a "scientifically rusted" bolt. Average torque load to loosen nut: No Oil used ........................516 foot pounds WD-40 ..................... ........238 foot pounds PB Blaster .........................214 foot pounds Liquid Wrench ......................127 foot pounds Kano Kroil .........................106 foot pounds ATF/Acetone mix...................... 53 foot pounds The ATF/Acetone mix is a "home brew" mix of 50/50 automatic transmission fluid and acetone. Note this "home brew" released bolts better than any commercial product in this one particular test. Our local machinist group mixed up a batch, and we all now use it with equally good results. Note also that Liquid Wrench is almost as good as Kroil for 20% of the price. ATF/Acetone mix is best, but you can also use ATF and lacquer thinner in a 50/50 mix. ATF = Any type of Automatic Transmission Fluid. This was in one of the Military Vehicle Club newsletters. I’ve used this ‘brew’ with terrific results; 50/50 ATF & Nail polish remover

With many thanks to Jason Blatchford organising Bargoed House for our Xmas Party, and especially the much

anticipated HASH CODE, and not the ASTERICK CODE to be used firstly to get inside the gate made for a great

outing with lots of fun, games, raffles, lucky prizes, gathering of Families and friends, Classic Cars and Moderns,

and our very own Santa who delighted children as well as adults handing out Christmas gifts, well wishes to all,

was certainly a day not to be missed. The cover photograph sees Santa and his helper chauffeured by the

capable Robert Garrett in his shining 1968 Datsun Sports 2000 and being greeted by a couple of children on his

arrival made the day a great success. The photos show the rest of the story.
