A strange and unusual Message

Strange, for it is the Message from a GreatUniver sit y to YOU,as a Seeker for Light. It is a Uni ve rsit y in which all who are Humble and Sincere are instructed by the Spirit of Wisdom itself,and here are all the Mys

teries of Nature preserved for the Children of Light.

The Interior Order was formed immediately afterthe first perception of M a n ‘s wider heritage had Dawn ed upon the first of the Adepts; it received from the Mas ters atfirst hand the revelation of the means by which Humanitycould be raised to its rights and delivered from its miseryIt received the primitive charges of all revelation and mystery, it received the true Key to Science, both divine andnatural .

One and concealed the Spirit and Tru th in the letter, because so many were not ready to unders tand great Inte riorTruth. Therefore, Interior Truths were wrapped in externaland percep tible Ceremonies , so that man by the percept ionof the Outer, which is the symbol of the In te ri or ,migh t bydegrees be enabled to safely approac h the Interior S piri tual Truths.

THE WISDOM SCHOOL

This School of Wisdom has been ever Cloisteredfrom the World, because it is submissive alone to the Illuminated Government , but from time to time this group of Sages have revealed to the outer World , a pathway, in orderto attrac t man to the great Truths of their Sanctuary. Iti3 thus that man finds here Wisdom and with it, All. Notthe Wisdom of the outer world which i3 but scientific knowledge which revolves around the outside, but never touchesthe centre,but true Wis do m,Understanding and Kn ow le dg e,allreflections of the Supreme Illumination.

Worldly intelligence seeks this Sanctuary in vainfruitless also will be the effects of the merely curiousto penetrate these Great Mysteries, all is undecipherableto those who are not ready,for they shall see nothing,norread anything. But to the Humble, the Sincere, no matterhow little may have been their previous study and trainingthere shall be revealed "something of the Mysteries of theKingdom".

THE INTERIOR ORDER

So in this Brotherhood,Truth reposes inviolable.It flows steadily from the great Interior Order,the Brothers who live in Silence,but yet in real activ ity.B eside stheir Secret Holy WJrk ,the y fr om time to time decide uponstrategic action. Thus when the ear th was ni'gh corrupt byreason of the great Sorcery,the Brethren sent Mohammed tobring freedom to mankind by the sword.

This being but partially a success,they raisedup Luther to teach freedom of thought. Yet this freedomsoon turned into a heavier bondage than before. Then theBrethr en delivered unto mankind the "Knowledge", of Natureand the Keys thereof, ye t this also was pre ven ted by thegreat Sorcery.

The Brothers of the University announced themselvesyears ago,without Miracles or Mystery for the Brethren makeno mystery,are devoid of the trappings of the Charlatan andthe deceptions of the merely commercial. They give to theiraccepted Neophyte students not laone the text but the comment in simple personal co mmu nic at ion s,forming the Alph abetof Spiritual Knowledge.In ad di ti on ,there are selected bythe Brethren, unique experiments, described in the simplestavailable languages. forts to find the Key to Lif e,w hic h that 'Something Within'tells him does exist. Yet there is always that dis appoi ntment, that Key whi ch seems to elude his grasp.

THE GREAT TEST

But finally, if he pers ist s in his search ,the recomes a day, when quietly, unheralded, without ostentation,a Way to establi sh his contact opens, he finds the Gate tothe Myst ic Pathw ay before him. But here is the first GreatTest. Will the outer self recognize the gen uin ene ss of theInvitation, will his Faith in the Guiding Voice Within, carry him over the threshold and will he pers ist unti l his huma n strengt h is sup pli men ted , and aided by the 'Dawning Po wer of Divi ne Light' streaming to him from far dow n the Path.Or, will the Mate rial Self, train ed so long to accept thegli tte rin g tinsel of the World, drow n out the Inner Voice,and refuse to accept the Truth, because she does not appearin the garb and manner he expected.

A DRAMATIC MOMENT

So this first test of the Neophyte marks one ofthe most dramatic moments possi ble in any human life, orin the devel opme nt of any immortal soul. This Occu lt Un iversity, like the Mys tery Schoo ls of Old, asks noth ing foritself, it is not a relig ious order, in the usual meaningof the term, it is not a Fraternal M ovement and it does notbind its students to any human persona lity, teacher or founder .

Its Illumined Teachers, as Mast ers of Init iat ionwork in Obscurity,behind the Veil, contacting their assigned student Neophyte s by mail and ot he rw is e,and working withthem and for them in many strange ways, yet always developing initiative and self responsibility, always with the utmos t of free dom of choice. The y give freely of their time,and psychic work in aiding the student to straighten out the

tang led threads of Life, giving to them the knowl edge andpointing out the way to bring Peace, Success, and Happinessinto their lives.

The entire work is a sane sensible training inthe practical application of the Laws of Occultism to theproblems of modern life, particularly, during these changingdays of the Old Age, when true knowledge is nece ssa ry to



avoid disaster. When harmony has been restored in theirouter affairs, then if the Neophyte presses on with loveand devotion, he will find that the Mas ter is a Gui de and

Friend in the Planes that lie beyond and his contact is estab lish ed with the Inte rior Order, the Lodge Invisible.Thus first his affai rs should be brought into order, thenall the customary stages of the Mystery Schools open beforehim. First, Probation; Second, Enlighte nmen t and Third, Initiation or Illumination. In the Second Phase of Enl igh tenment there are awarded Certificates and Titles indicativeof the student's attainment, useful principally because atthat point the student is ready to do something in aidingothers and the possession of an outer mark of inner development is desirable for those who cannot see for themselves.

SIMPLICITY OF THE WORK

A saving in time and money

The personal work of the Master requires no memorizing ,no prolon ged hard study,no r adical change in youroute r mode of living, no long hours of practi ce, -and nochange in your religious beliefs, your earthly obligati onsor ties. Ten or fifteen minutes nightly at your own convenience, is all that is required. The communications are sentto you in simple language, readily unders tandab le, and so .worded that they make their impress upon the SubsonsciousMind, without arduous study. Perhaps the great est benefitwill come from having this personal teacher who will standready to aid and advise you in many ways,and to whom youmay fre ely writ e of your probleras,your hopes ,and also youraspirations, and on whom you may call in emergencies.

CURRICULUM

The Brotherhood University has divided its Curricu lum into three broad Gra des of Instruction. The firstdeals with the Training and Dev elo ping of the Self. Thesecond reveals the Secret Instruction of the Deeper Mysteries, and third, the Development Of the Powers of the Slagus.

REBUILDING THE SELFFirst Phase

This part of the work, consisting of 41 lessonstakes up those phases of Mental and Mystica l Develop ment,whic h brings about a Magnetic Personality, Success on theMunda ne Plane, thru a Util izat ion of certain little knownForces, and brings about Peace, Happi ness and Pros peri tythru direct aid in the untangling of Personal Affairs, andthe reconstruction of the personal viewpoint and understand



ing. There is brought about during this phase, attunementwit h the great Interior Order and Its Power and Know ledgeas Occult Cognition is unfolded. The Faculties of the Studen t become sensiti zed, and he is taught to study and analyze, so that each step of his growth brings about certai n definite results, and adjustmen ts to life, as well asa gradual regeneration of all his faculties and powers.TheFaculti es unfo ld from within, outward, -like the peta ls ofa flower, and one of the signs of the True Occult Unfold -ment which is being brought about lies in the peculiar extension of Sense Percep tion which the Student develops.The Mental Sense of Awareness, which you might term a formof Mental Clarity, or Acuteness, and the Mind becomes a-ware of the right things to d o ,the correct courses to pursue, the right d eci sio ns to be made as problems of the Mundane unfold. There is also buil t up full Self Control and

Self Mastery over the Triune Nature, so that the intellectcan function uncontaminated by the errors of previous falseconcepts and ideas, or by the impingement of the emotionswhich otherwise in any way distort the Truth.

INSTRUCTION IN THE DEEPER MYSTERIESSecond Phase

This phase of the work covers a broad course ofinstruction, uncontaminated by extreme ideas, or faddist'sviewpoints.lt is not confined to the ideas of any one Leader, but rather opens to the Student the entire know ledge ofthe Ancient Mystery Schools,concerning the Inner Plane or

This embraces the third part of the work, andcompletes the most comprehensive System of Personal Instruction which has ever been give n to the Wes ter n Wor ldreg ardl ess of- the claims of various Organ iza tio ns.The ac-tual working methods of this third grade are rarely tobe had,never in Books or by Travelling Teachers.lt coversall phases of the higher and more sacred Aspects of Occultism and Mysticis m,including Magic,and covers in otherwords,the most absolute and divine knowledge of Natural

Philosophy,leading to the Powers of the Adept,controllingmanifestations of Nature and invokes the cooperation ofthe very highest Intelligences,who are happy and willingto serve him who achieves.The various phases of this partof the Brother hood work includes the most ca refully g uar ded individual instructions which are combined with the per-sonal correspondence and guidance, not hitherto available.

ADVANCED STUDENTS

If you are an advanced student it is not necessary for you to begin with the A.B.C.'s— you may begin withthe Second Phase of the work, correlating your previousstudies and bringing them into alignment with the work ofthe We st er n Traditions and thus prepare for the work ofChristian Magic,the labors of the Adept, constituting theThird part of the work.

On the other hand, if you pre fer you may begin atthe beginning and lay the foundation well,finding the timewell spent and finding in the solving of the problems oflife and in the wo rki ng wi th the condi tions of the world today, the best possible discip line and training of the willand of the Triune Nature, fitting you for unu sua lly rapidprogress when you do turn to the higher work.

Those of you who are as yet Beginners, who havebeen interested in New Tho ug ht ,Psychology and those simplerstudies of the Outer Courts, will find the early lessonsare written in such a way that they are very easy to understand .

THE REGULAR WORK

is the full, comple te course of study, whi ch mayinclude extra work,if desired. This is termed the REGULARCOURSE.It includes four lessons or more per month and thepersonal letters of the Master,individually written to ea

ch student. These are sent in rep ly to the ques tion s orneeds of the student, even as often as each week. Also included is the Personal Psychic Help and Guidance of theMas te r.

THE WELFARE DEPARTMENT

consists of the same regular lessons, but the longpersonal letters, individually dictated and typed are limited to one per month from the class Teacher. Psychic Helpin all emergenc ies is given, thus the princ ipal diffe renceis in the smaller number of individual letters, materiallyreducing the actual expenses.

THE MATTER OF FINANCES9

Foll owin g the Ancient Custom, the Wor k of En lig htenment is either department is supported entirely throughFree Will Offerin gs called Alms. There are no fixed dues,no fixed obligations as to the future. You do not suscribeto any fixed amount. Each Lunar month of four weeks you decide the amount of the Alms in whichever department youare working, sending whatever your heart and circumstan cesdictate as just and proper.

EXPENSES IN REGULAR DEPARTMENT

As a mat ter of record the Scribe of the Bre thr enhas calculated that the initial cost to the Brotherhood ofsecuring each pupil in the Regul ar Departm ent, togetherwith the enroll ment expense, the prepar ing of the hor oscope for the Master appo inte d as the Special T ea ch er / thenec ess ary record cards, folders and plates, is app rox ima tely Five Dollars. His calculati ons show that the mon thl ycost of each student is approximately Two Dollars per Lunar mo nth of four weeks, including the long, two or threepage individual letters of private advice and instruction*Thu s while you do no t obliga te yourself, it is to be ex

pected that you will recognize these items as your expenseto the Bro the rho od and that you will do your best to coverthem. Students wishing to align themselves with the Teac hers of the race, frequently send something extra from timeto time, to help those in the Welf are De pa rt ment who areunable to cover their expenses and uses this means for expressing their understanding of Cosmic Law.



EXPENSES IN WELFARE DEPARTMENT

We are not unmindful of the conditions in the Worldtoday and this department has therefore been arranged to aidthose who need help but are unable to cover the expenses of

the Regular Department. Knowing this, many will not take advanta ge of this help, for they do not wi sh to be un der anyobligation. They may now enter this Welfare Depart ment withthe same lessons, under a trained Class Teacher, and by limiting the personal letters to one per month, the Brotherhoodexpense is materially reduced. The Scribe calcu lates the initial expense in this depa rtment is appr oxim atel y One Dollarand that the monthly expense is fifty cents per Lunar Monthof four weeks. Students, reall y desir ous of having help andtraining in the straightening out of their affairs and in-the understanding of the great laws whose use will aid them,can secure help here. They do not obligate themse lves tosend even these small amoun ts,but they agree that t h e y willdo the best they can to cover these items of expense.

TRUTH IS FREE

One must remember that, if it were possib le for thestudents to gather before the Master, he would be able toteach and instruct them without cost. In these days however that would involve the expense and difficulties of longjourn eys for people now live far apart. As it is, you canhave the Master's words in prepared manuscript form,to readin the quiet of your own home,without giving up your employment nor having to prepare for a long trip,with its expense

and hardships. Later on the psychic revelations of the LodgeInvisible and its great Hall of Initiation come to you inthe same manner.

FINAL INSTRUCTIONS

Having read the foregoing carefully, you may now proceed to fill in your answers to the following questions.Naturally, many things will be made plai n and many questionswill be answered after you have completed this, your firststep. These cannot be set forth so openly to an inqu irer ,even if he has been provi sion ally accepted. However, it may besaid that your Teachings will come, in the early grades, by

mail, and in the higher part of the work, they will come toyou Psychically, directly from one of the several Masters.Your Physical Body and your Mental Qualities will be tunedand developed in preparation for the Mystic Work which fol-lows--the de velop ment of your Psychic Faculties, the openingof your Inner Sight and Hearing, the Power to speak in thepresence of the Masters and have your desires fulfilled.Then



follows the reshaping of your life along the lines of yourhighest Aspirations. Many wonderful experiences come to youmany Experiments are given you, and unusual weekly communications as well, but the Personal Help and Instruction of theMaster is what makes the difference and what will make yourSuccess assured, even if you have failed under commercia lmethods of sel f-l ear nin g. The requirement s of membersh ip are simple, you mustbe sincere. No college educat ion is necessary . The method sare concise and underst andabl e, yet prof ound ly deep. Theyare the methods of the Western Traditions using the Naturecontacts of the Mayan and Atlantean groups, and the high Spiritual Contacts of the Master Jesus and the group workingwith Him in the Inner Planes. Thus in this Western V/orld areto be found High Initiates working under authority of theGreat White Lodge of the World and under the guidance of theLodge Invisible. Wo rkin g with them are intelligent, sinceremen and women of every walk of life and in all parts of theWorld tho concentrating in the Western Hemisphere. All theseare finding personal help, the loving, kindly teachings theyneed during these days. Many, having achieved harmony on theEarth Plane have turned to the development of their InnerPowers and are working with the Master as he points the waythru the Inner Portals and brings them into conscious contact with the Powers of the Unseen Worlds.

Each in becoming a Neophyte should have a firm intention to devote a few moments each day to the pursuit ofthe highest Ideals, and also expressing freely and franklyto the Master assigned to him, and any dif ficu ltie s or deterrent influences of any kind that he may encounter in making the Sublime Ascent. It will be the duty and plea sur e ofthat Master to aid him in meeting and overcoming all such obstacles. He will be at liberty to question his Teach er regardin g the theoretical and personal pr oblem s that are. referred to or touched upon in his exposition of Life,or thatmay at any time arise in his mind,his Life and Affairs.Thereare no insoluble problems and no unattainable Ideals.
