Once upon a time, there was a lady who was desperately in love with a gentleman. Lady Alix and Guillemain, knight of the Duke of Aq-uitaine had met at a tournament. Unfortunately, Guillemain went far away on a war and never came back. Lady Alix only heard that a stone representing him was carved to decorate his grave. Robin, fond of history and young detective wants to find the traces of Guillemain...

In order to help Robin, you have to answer a few riddles and share your tal-ents of detective with him… Ready to start? Let’s go then! Thanks to the letters written by Guillemain to Lady Alix, Robin found clues which might take you to the place where the knight’s statue lays. Use a map to know where you are.

From the place du clocher, look at the village. In the Middle Ages, Saint-Emilion was a nice trading town, surrounded by a city wall and vineyards. Nowadays, this heritage is protected ! Look around you, find a symbol on the bell tower and copy the letters shaping the pillars of a temple:

Then look behind you. There is a gate on the right side of the Tourist Office. A symbol and three letters are carved in the stone above the door. What is the first letter? Answer: ___

In front of the gate, go on your right in the street named “rue des Girondins”. At the end of the street, turn twice to the right in the rue de la cadène. Look on your left to discover the only half-timbered house of the village. Look care-fully at the figures of the wooden frieze. Try to draw or describe them. Walk down the rue de la Cadène and reach the “place de l’église monolithe”. In the Middle Ages, it was the market square, heart of the village. On this square, you will discover the market hall; try to find the date carved on the top of the façade.
