Willkommen Freunde! Two Year 4 classes came to London from Germany with no parents! They came because their English pen pals had invited them for a week. The English pen pals were the Year 3 and 4 pupils from JUDITH KERR PRIMARY SCHOOL. The German Year 4 classes were staying at a youth hostel in a park. At first, the Judith Kerr pupils went to see them in the park. At the park, they played an exciting game where you had to find a number and under the paper would be a password, then you had to find a teacher, tell them the password and the teacher would give you an activity to do. One day later, the Germans visited our school and they did a presentation about where they live and their school and we performed The Tiger Who Came To Tea for them. After that, they did art together and finally, they played instruments. Finally, it was time to say 'Goodbye'. It was very sad to see them go but we'll see them again one day.

One day later, the Germans visited our school and they did a presentation about where they live and their school and we performed The Tiger Who

Came To Tea for them. After that, they did art together and fi n a l l y , t h e y p l a y e d instruments. Finally, it was time to say 'Goodbye'. It was very sad to see them go but we'll see them again one day.   Maya, Y3

THE JUDITH KERR PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN NEWSPAPER Summer term 2016, Issue #1

MYSTERY INTERVIEW Guess who? And get your photo published in the Mog Chronicle

by Jasper and Jerry Y3

What would you like to change about the school?

I am so very pleased with all the changes that we have made so far, the school looks fantastic. However, if I could change anything further, it would probably have to be the outside area - I would love to do more outdoor learning projects. In addition, I would also like to develop the play areas with climbing frames and gyms.

What is your favourite change in relation to the 'new ' school?

The new classrooms with lots of natural light and the colour scheme chosen. I particularly like the furniture matching the classrooms too.

What is your favourite book?

This is a very difficult question, as I have a few! But as a child, I had different books that marked my life including: The very hungry caterpillar and Where the wild things are, Kensuke's Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald

Dahl. I'm a huge fan of classics and all the Shakespeare's plays.

Do you play any sports?

Not so long ago I used to play football in a woman's football team. I enjoyed it very much but could not cope with the bruises on my legs after playing! Now I try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, enjoy running and tough workouts as well as dancing.

Do you play any musical instruments?

Unfortunately not, but it is definitely on my list of things to do and learn! I love listening to a range of instruments but would love to learn to play Brazilian bateria or a real drumkit!

Who is this person? Write to us [email protected] or give to one of the editors your answer. The winner will be announced in our next edition.

BREAKING NEWS: Great news for the children in year 3. Swimming lessons have started! Who knows, may be one day one of the school’s pupils will be as good in the water as Olympic medalists Tom Daley or Rebecca Adlington. Start practising in your lessons now! - by Josh Y3

ELETELOPHONY Once there was an elephant, Who tried to use the telephant

No! No! I mean an elephone Who tried to use the telephone

(Dear me! I am not certain quite that even now I’ve got it right)

However it was he got his trunk entangled in the telephunk,

The more he tried to get it free, The louder buzzed the telephee

(I fear I’d better drop the song Of elephop and telephong).

JOKES

Did you know ? by Oli, Y4

Each object has a centre of gravity, therefore, if you rode a bike on a tight rope whilst someone is sitting on a swing attached

to the bike, it balances because the swing supports the centre of gravity.

Even if a vacuum has low suction, it can still suck up anything without a foundation if the vacuum has the right size nozzle.

Some foods have enough sugar/material to power a mini rocket.

Good says Oli Y4:

Homework is debatable, but in my opinion homework is good revision for upcoming lesson and to understand previous lessons. Ooops! I forgot my homework!!!

Bad says Arlo Y4: Indeed, homework, is very debatable, yet I think it's important not to overwork pupils. Usually, they come home from school, already so tired they can hardly put a pen on paper.

THE TIGERS ARE COMING! by Misan Judith Kerr Primary School will be realising a new school football team.
