WhaT’s neW This seasOn?

The 2015/16 season marks a very exciting time for the club. Having had £50,000 spent on our training pitch, we have the best surfaces in local area! The players are ready for the new season with each of our teams hoping to improve on last year. The 1st XV welcomes a new coach who will run training sessions at the club every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30-9.30 – why not come along and try it out?

The 1st XV narrowly missed out on promotion last year and are looking to improve this season. The Vets team continues to attract some great players. Last season Kieran Roche (Ex- London Irish and England Saxons, as well as former Old Mid) put his boots back on, and we hope George Chuter (Ex-Leicester and England hooker and Old Mid) might pop down this season too. But don’t worry, players of all ages and levels are just as welcome as Ex-professionals!

The Mini secTiOn

The Mids runs a growing minis section with teams for under 5s all the way up to the under 18s. We are proud of our nurturing and enjoyment focussed ethos. We have great

parental support at the club and would welcome any children who want to give

it a go, training is every Sunday from 10am! Last season saw

five former minis playing for the 1st XV… a great day for the boys, parents and the club.

The Mids is the local rugby team for Selsdon, Sanderstead and South Croydon. We welcome players of all ages, from 5 to 55, to come and play. With a growing mini section, three senior sides and a thriving social scene, get yourself to Lime Meadow Avenue and get involved. For the wives and girlfriends, we offer a cosy bar area where you can sit and support your man from afar, before joining us for a drink to celebrate another great weekend of rugby.

We have wonderful facilities at Lime Meadow Avenue which include a fully floodlit training pitch, both male and female changing rooms and refurbished bar area with large screen TV’s. The club is home to a range of sports including rugby, cricket and hockey and welcomes players of all abilities, we don’t care how good you are!

Our aim is to bring the club to the forefront of the local community, working in partnership with the residents, schools and businesses to build a community club for all. Why not come up and have a look at what we have to offer?

Join us for the opening match of the world cup! Warm up BBQ starts at 7pm so don’t worry about dinner!

Come and have freshly cooked fish and chips as England host the Welsh.

After walloping Camberley, we host the Australian police team for an evening of live Didgeridoo music, Australian fancy dress, BBQ and guest beers.

Why not bring the family to watch England unleash its attacking style live on the big screen!

Come up and watch the minis play on a crisp October morning before settling in for the last quarter final matches.

A massive local derby for The Mids before the first Semi-final gets the evening underway topped off by our annual Quiz night - this year, the theme is… The Rugby World Cup!

The Vets team will highlight that talent is permanent @ 1pm before filling the clubhouse for what is going to be a great semi-final.

Why not watch two locals schools battle it out under floodlights in a showcase match before joining us for a warm drink (or beer!)

Will it be England? Come and see! BBQ and guest beers from 6pm. Wear your nation’s shirt with pride!
