August 10th I will beginning a new sermon series entitled "RoadTrip." We will look at significant biblical roads and paths to examine theirsymbolic spiritual meaning to our lives. Here are the roads we'll betraveling:
August 10th: The Road of Joy, Luke 5:1-11August 17th: The Road of Courage, Joshua 1:1-19August 24th: The Road of Freedom, Luke 10:30-37August 31st: The Road of Humility, Jonah 1:1-3
If you have a story, a life experience of how God has worked in yourlife and it goes along with the theme of the sermon, I would love for you toshare that in worship. Maybe you have a friend that has an inspiring storyto share in worship. Perhaps someone could do a short skit? I have achallenge, could someone sing the song, Bless The Broken Road, by RacalFlats, that song has a great spiritual message. Worship is so much morehonoring of God when we bring our gifts and abilities together. Pleasekeep these themes in mind and if you have something to share, call meand we'll talk.
In Christ,Gus

Mt. Carmel
Picnic Fellowship
What a wonderful time
everyone had at Mt. Carmel!
Delicious food, lots of
fellowship, great music, and
fun rides on the barrel train
and hay trailer. The weather
forecast was posted to
continue the July hot temps.
But, God did what God does
best. Around 5:30, a cooling
breeze came across the
beautiful country, making the
evening very pleasant and
comfortable.
An added treat for everyone
was seeing the lovely stain
glass windows that have been
placed in the sanctuary of Mt.
Carmel Church. The latest of
these glorious windows have
been made by local Yorkville
artist, Pam Locker.

What do you do with old Sunday school literature, Christian pamphlets and magazines, Upper Room
publications or other similar printed material you no longer use? Have you ever thought if there were only
some place that could use these instead of them being thrown away? Well, there are two such projects!
Center UMC collects these types of materials to share with facilities such as the Dyer County Jail. Contact
Theresa Williams, [email protected].
Joan Jones, 627-2950, also shares these materials with residents of Wesley of Dyersburg Nursing Care.
