JetBlue inaugural flight to Aruba from Fort Lauderdale-

Hollywood was welcomed with water canon salute

JetBlue grows presence in the Caribbean with new Aruba Flights

After announcing its new service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood

International Airport to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International

Airport on August 29th, 2016, the inaugural JetBlue flight was

welcomed on January 4th, 2017.

Aruba Airport Authority N.V. Air Service Development Manager,

Mrs. Jo-Anne Arends said that Aruba’s Airport was very pleased,

satisfied and proud to be able to welcome the JetBlue For Lauderdale-Aruba Flight. Mrs. Arends added that

JetBlue started flying to Aruba in 2006 with flights from Boston and 11 years later JetBlue is one of Aruba’s

largest strategic partners that highly contribute to Aruba’s tourism industry by bringing in market

diversification.

On January 4th JetBlue expanded its weekly service to Aruba with 32 new flights bringing in a total of 230,500

seats. Mrs. Arends further explained that the new route of Fort Lauderdale-Aruba has two objectives. The

first is to connect the Florida market with Aruba and the second is to strategically connect Aruba with the

west, San Francisco and Los Angeles, and also key markets like Hartford, Connecticut and Washington, DC.

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood service will provide a third nonstop Aruba gateway and allow for convenient

connections from across the growing JetBlue network.

Flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood and Aruba will be operated on the airline’s Airbus A320 aircraft

offering the airline’s award-winning service featuring the most legroom in coach; free Fly-Fi, the fastest

broadband internet in the sky; complimentary and unlimited name-brand snacks and soft drinks; free live

DIRECTV programming, 100+ channels of SiriusXM radio at every seat and free first-run Hollywood movies.

This year JetBlue has added or announced new nonstop destinations including Nashville, Tenn., New

Orleans, San Diego, Barbados, Quito, Ecuador. JetBlue has also launched a flight to Santa Clara, Cuba, the

first of four Cuban cities the airline tentatively plans to serve from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, subject to

receipt of government operating authority.

JetBlue has 11 weekly flights to Aruba from Boston where

the island dominates the market with the highest capacity

in the Caribbean. Besides that it has 14 weekly flights

from JFK and seven flights from Fort Lauderdale to Aruba.

It also offers weekly Mint flights seasonally from Boston

and JFK airports, which feature the airline’s successful

premium service with lie-flat seating and tapas style

dining. Aruba’s partnership with JetBlue will continue to

raise the island’s tourism to new heights.

Important Notice

From the ABC Board of Directors to owners Although 95% of our owners and guests abide by the house rule to keep their balcony door closed to prevent mold, unfortunately we still have a few owners and guests that choose to ignore this rule and continue to leave their balcony door open.

Owners and guests are reminded that balcony doors MUST be kept closed AT ALL TIMES to prevent mold infestation.

Leaving your balcony door open, even for a very short period of time, allows the hot air to come into the air-conditioned room causing moisture, which is the biggest cause of mold.

Because mold is expensive to remove and more importantly very bad for one’s health, the Board passed a motion at the April Board of Directors meeting that effective June 1, 2016 there will be a fine of $100.00 for each violation which will be added to the owner’s maintenance bill and guest’s room bill for those people who choose to ignore this rule and leave their balcony door open.

The Security Department will be enforcing this rule by taking note of any room number with the balcony door open.

The first violation will result in a warning only. The second and subsequent violations of the closed-door

policy will result in a $100.00 fine per violation.

o Bringing issues or concerns to the attention of the Board after the fact and when you are back home makes

no sense when the problem could have been addressed and resolved immediately by just notifying

o If for some reason management was unable to take care of the issue to your satisfaction THEN please let

the Board know.

ARUBA BEACH CLUB RESORT COMPENSATION POLICY

From the time when you purchased at the Aruba Beach Club Resort, it becomes your “Home away from Home”. When you stay at the Resort, you are not just a guest in a conventional hotel, but an owner of your vacation unit. As all Timeshare Resorts, Aruba Beach Club Resort is a nonprofit organization and maintenance fees cover operating expenses only. There are no funds in our annual budget to cover complimentary compensation such as free meals or free nights, as the cost would come directly from the owners’ dues. As in your own home, minor and major maintenance issues can occur, not excluding unforeseen situations as a result of miscommunication or human error. However, please rest assured that ABC Management and Staff continually make every effort to make your stay at our Resort pleasant and trouble-free. If any issue arises, do not hesitate to bring it to our attention, and you may rest assured that immediate action will be taken by our staff to correct it as prompt as possible. In case you experience any inconvenience during your stay with us, please accept a sincere apology from our staff members, in lieu of expecting any type of recompense.

ABUSE Owners and/or Guests shall not verbally abuse or harass any other owner or guest, staff or Management Staff. In the event of a verbal or physical assault upon any other owner and/or guest, staff or Management Staff, Management shall recommend the Board of Directors to either suspend or withdraw ownership from the Resort. The Resort will not tolerate any form of abusive conduct.

Owners and/or Guests shall respect the rights of other owners and/or guests, staff and Management Staff.

Owners and/or Guests shall not use profane language at any time.

Owners and/or Guests shall not intentionally damage or remove property that belongs to the Resort.

A Message Board has been placed in the Members Lounge for Aruba Beach Club Resort Guests who would

like to place a notice during their vacation week(s), e.g. looking for deep-sea fishing partners, a tennis partner, volleyball

players, etc. It is not intended for classified Private Resale and/or Rental offers. Management reserves the right to remove any

inappropriate notices.

LENDING LIBRARY: Our library has moved to the former Sales and Marketing office. Owners and Guests are invited to visit the lending library. We also appreciate your contribution of books to replenish and share the “good reading”.

Our activities coordinator will have a brief questionnaire that you will need to complete for ATA, in order to assist with coordination of your ATA Recognition Ceremony which would be held during your vacation at the Aruba Beach Club Resort.

CLUB SALES AND RESALES

There are some spectacular weeks at great prices available. Don’t forget to invite your friends or relatives who may

be interested in becoming an owner with us! For those who will be here on the Island, take a moment to meet John.

His office is currently located in the Executive Office.

Right now we have a $25.00 F&B Gift Certificate at Ricardo’s for referring someone to our Resale Office and after

the completion of the sale, which would be when the purchase is made and payment in full is received. Resales listings can be found on the link: http://www.arubabeachclub.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t-21 and on

John’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ArubaBeachCLubResales “Like It”.

Settlement checks are issued to seller only after the buyer’s final payment (which is due 30 days after the date of sale) has been received and cleared by the Bank. Our Bank here in Aruba places an automatic six week “hold” on funds received via check allowing ample time to clear through the International banking system. After that six week period, the accounting department issues the request for check for transmittal to the seller. By the same token, Share Certificates are issued after the same six week period. Your understanding and patience with this practice is appreciated.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS

Please be aware there are scammers using the Aruba Beach Club Resort website www.arubabeachclub.net bulletin board and similar bulletin board systems to attempt to scam you out of your hard earned money. They troll the messages looking for people wanting to rent or purchase a timeshare and contact you saying they have just what you want for a great price. It's a scam, they will request a deposit or full upfront payment but THEY DO NOT OWN THE UNIT IN QUESTION and cannot legally rent or sell it. You will never hear from them again and you will have lost whatever money you sent. There are other scams happening with similar results, be proactive, don't lose your money. It is very important, before you any send money to anyone, contact the resort to verify ownership of the unit/week being offered, via email [email protected], or Phone: 297-524-3001.

Page 15: The Manager’s Newsletters are being sent quarterly to all

NOTICE - PRIVATE RENTALS

The Aruba Beach Club Resort considers a private rental to be when the owner is paid (monetary/non-monetary arrangement not privy to the Resort) directly by his guest, and in turn, the owner submits the appropriate Member Guest Authorization form to the Resort’s Reservations Department for the particular week/unit/year.

********** The Resort is aware of “Private Rentals” that increasingly, are being arranged by “illegal brokers” who most likely take a commission on the rental he/she arranges. This is a person (can be an owner, can be a non-owner) who sometimes surf’s the “Rentals Page” of the Club’s Website, or another rental listing source, contacts the owner and offers to find a renter for his week/unit/year. These third party, types of transactions, can not only become complicated, but can cause additional work and/or confusion for the Resort’s Reservations Department.

The Aruba Beach Club Resort does not condone the above mentioned practice. All Risk is for the Owner and his Guest.

PAYMENT on Owner Club Dues Account by THIRD PARTY For owners who choose to use a third party/ outside rental agent: Please be reminded that it is not the Club’s responsibility to notify nor provide any information to the respective owner of any deposit(s) made by third party/ outside rental agent on his/ her account. It is the duty of the third party/ outside rental agent to inform the owner directly of any payment made on the owners account. If the owner allows a third party/ outside rental agent to pay on his/ her account, then please provide him/ her with your name, member number, week and unit along with the amount to be paid in writing for them to provide to the Front Office Agent on duty. Payments will only be applied to current or future Aruba Beach Club Resort Maintenance Fees.

OWNERS AND GUESTS / PRIVATE RENTALS

To those owners who are privately renting their units, sending guests, please be reminded of the By-Law VIII MEMBERS’

OPTIONS (printed below for easy reference), and in particular we want to call your attention to paragraph 3. There has

been incidence, e.g. guest departs without settling room bill, high long distance phone calls; damage in unit and/or on

property; theft, in which case the owner of the unit is liable and will be billed accordingly. The only exception: A unit placed

in Club’s Rental Program in which case the Club is liable.

BY-LAW VIII. MEMBERS’ OPTIONS

1. A Member may bring as many guests during his annual stay in the hotel as his suite may accommodate pursuant to Article 6, Section 2 of the By-Laws.

2. Availability of a member’s suite is guaranteed for his chosen week(s). If the member desires to exchange, or to put the suite in the Rental Program, the Club must receive 30 days’ notice before his time period.
