Project Update

Our first project--the painting of the church--is now complete. Our second project--the covering of the exterior beams and exterior window frames with steel siding and replacing one window in the kitchen of the residence--will be starting once the weather improves. God Bless.

Fr. B.Jay and the finance Committee.

During the solemn entrance into Jerusalem, Jesus does not hide Who Is He. He knew that he

was going to die. He knew that he was not fulfilling the political expectations of the crowd, He

was not the kind of Messiah and king, whom his supporters expected. Jesus presents himself as

the humble King of Peace, the Messiah, entering on a donkey into Jerusalem. There were many

messianic prophesies, but Jesus chose to fulfill the prophesy of Zechariah. Instead of clothing

himself in majestic dress, Jesus entered into Jerusalem on a donkey, on the cloaks, which the

people threw to Him. Jesus is the humble King. He is the Lord, The Messiah, the King and Priest,

but His mission does not satisfy human desires. He enters into Jerusalem, to fulfill His Father's

will. Also it is important to mention those who follow Him, the crowd of disciples. We know

that in several days they will be frustrated and even leave Him. Today's reading of the Passion

of the Lord according to St. Luke is connected to the procession with the palms. The sense of

this celebration expresses very well our invitation to enter into the solemn procession, and fol-

low Christ in His Passion, to the Resurrection, and accompany Him in his footsteps with faith

and devotion. May St. Luke’s description of Jesus’ solemn entrance into Jerusalem be our invi-

tation to follow Christ, so that we too may have a share in His Resurrection and in His life.

FROM THE LIFE OF THE CHURCH & PARISH

On to uniżył samego siebie, dlatego Bóg Go wywyższył.

3. Wielkim Tygodniu nie załatwiać żadnych spraw kancelaryjnych, nie zamawiać mszy św. Proszę to załatwić wsześniej albo później. Proszę, aby mnie nie odciągano do innych spraw. W nagłym wypadku, zawsze jestem do dypozycji.

4. Ofiarujemy Panu gałązki palmowe, wieńce naszego zwycięstwa nad grzechem, słabością. Niech młode, żywe gałązki palmowe będą znakiem naszych dobrych uczynków z którymi wybiegamy powitać Jeusa, który przychodzi w imię Pańskie, aby nam okazać miłosierdzie. Idzie, idzie, Bóg prawdziwy, który uniżył samego siebie stawszy się człowiekiem; dał nam przykład pokory do naśladowania.

5. Panie z Kółek Różańcowych proszę w Niedziele Wielkanocną o udział w procesji, w strojach, ze świecami. Proszę o przybycie 15 minut przed godziną Jedenastą.

8. HOLY WEEK. Every day of this coming week is called Holy, and Friday is called Good Friday. This coming week began with the solemn entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem during the Jewish feast called Passover. This is the week in which Jesus became the Lamb of God and gave his life on the wood of the Cross for us. From Holy Thursday we will experience Jesus' Passover from this world through the death on the Cross, lying in the tomb, and through the entrance to glorified life after the Resurrection. These three Holy days are called “The Paschal Mystery, The Paschal Triduum”, and in wholeness they are The Easter Feast. In these three days we will participate in all acts of salvation. We will experience what happens in Jerusalem in the last days of the earthly life of Jesus.

9. We offer the Lord palm branches, wreaths of our victory over sins and weaknesses. May the fresh living branches of palms be a sign of our good deeds with which we run to welcome Jesus, who comes in the Name of The Lord. Who has come in His abundant mercy. Follow in the footsteps of The Lord, who humbled himself, becoming man and obedient to death, even death on the cross.

10. Holy Thursday. After the liturgical celebration of the Mass of the Last Supper we adore the Most Holy Sacrament. The prayer before the Most Holy Sacrament develops faith, hope and love in our hearts as well as devoting ourselves to God in the spirit of obedience and sacrifice. Today, after the Last Supper Jesus went to pray in the garden on the Hill of Olives. He asked the Apostles to watch and to pray with him. Nevertheless they fell asleep. Today we cannot remain indifferent during this night, in which we remember the agony of Jesus, who in spite of human fear of the thought of the suffering awaiting Him, he accepted it with perfect faith in the will of God. Also today the altar is stripped, the cross is carried from the Church. The custom of stripping the table cloth from the altar is a symbolic activity. It is to remind us of the abandonment of Jesus by his apostles at the time of his capture or it also reminds us of Jesus as he is stripped of his garments, of his dignity, for he died as a criminal.

11. Good Friday – Lenten discipline. Day of fasting.
