Government Cloud Compliance All state governments today have begun the journey from capital intensive, conventional data centers toward the promise of more efficient, and affordable cloud computing solutions. This is undoubtedly the right direction to go, but there are many uncertainties along the way. As states shift more of their data and operations to cloud environments they enter a complex maze of compliance requirements including National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS). State hospitals need to comply with HIPAA. Departments that take credit cards need to comply with PCI DSS. Interagency Cybersecurity Solutions Every state agency is aware of the need for heightened cybersecurity. The tendency for state departments to want to maintain their own IT services, however, creates a patchwork quilt of disparate technology systems that dramatically complicate interagency security solutions. There are patches of digitization, but there is rarely an overarching seamless point of integration that securely captures, stores, manages and makes appropriate data available to case workers online and on demand. Digital Transportation Solutions Most people look at state highways and see cars and trucks going by. We see data, vast amounts of data, pulsing through interconnected ruggedized networks from video cameras, smart traffic signs, RFID tolls and scores of assorted IoT devices. We also see data traffic jams, infrastructure construction delays, and lost data by the side of the transportation information highway. We help state transportation departments securely capture, transmit, store, manage and apply Big Data analytics to convert all that data into information that can be used not only to enhance public safety, but also to support strategic planning, prioritize infrastructure upgrades and generally empower transportation departments with a data dashboard to help them drive their transportation systems safely into the future.

Energy and Environmental Solutions There are many parallels between managing data across complex, interconnected data networks and managing the flow and distribution of energy across the multitude of interconnected networks that make up a state’s energy grid. As energy grids become smarter, leveraging many of the same technologies and services as intelligent networks, data increasingly flows with energy across the same grid. Many states have pilot programs, in fact, to provide broadband services over the energy grid.
