Message From the General ManagerDear Residents, Families and Friends:This month, we celebrate the beginning of summer and with that it brings to mind the many vacations I have enjoyed with my family. After the harsh winter we experienced, perhaps a trip to an exotic, warm and sunny climate next winter may be just what you need. One of the exciting amenities that sets Leisure Care apart is Travel by Leisure Care. This program is available to residents, employees and their families and friends. Trips are booked through Twist Travel which is owned and operated by Leisure Care.Twist Travel offers a selection of trips throughout the year. For example, in May, a cruise to British Columbia was totally sold out. However, there is still time to reserve a space on the Mexican Riviera cruise this October!Twist Travel trips are based on moderate to deluxe accommodations. They also include insurance in case a resident becomes ill and cannot travel or becomes ill while on a trip. A Twist Travel escort is also available 24/7. If a resident needs special assistance such as dressing or the administration of medication — no worries — they are still able to travel on a Twist Travel trip (say that three times fast!) The trip can be offered to their caregiver at a reduced rate.Looking for a budget package in which you travel independently? Twist Travel will be happy to book that for you as well. In addition, local trips determined by resident input and feedback will be scheduled by our Guest Services Director Susan in conjunction with Twist Travel. From an overnight tour by luxury motor coach to Niagara Falls, to the covered bridge in Ashtabula, travel plans are unique to each community.For more information, please contact Susan Dietz or me and we will be happy to assist you.
