AIRAH and Standards Australia are pleased to present a seminar series on updates to AS 1668.1 and AS 1670. The key design, installation and commissioning requirements for mechanical fire and smoke control systems are contained in Australian Standards; AS/NZS 1668.1 – The use of ventilation and air conditioning in buildings. Fire and smoke control in buildings; AS 1682.1 – Fire, smoke and air dampers. Specification; AS 1682.2 – Fire, smoke and air dampers. Installation; and AS 1670.1 – Fire detection, warning, control and intercom systems - System design, installation and commissioning - Fire Each of these Standards had major revisions for publication in 2015. AIRAH will be presenting seminars throughout Australia in March 2016 to provide an introduction to the changes and enable an industry briefing session. The Standards Australia committee has prepared the documents for consideration by the Australian Building Codes Board for adoption in to the National Construction Code for 2016.
