The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was
established in 1963 by the Ministry of Commerce,
Government of India. IIFT has played a pivotal role in
the evaluation and advancement of International
Business Education and Research in the country. IIFT
visualizes its future role as a catalyst for new ideas,
concepts and skills for the internationalization of
Indian Economy. The Institute’s portfolio of
educational programmes is diverse and caters to the
requirement of aspiring business executives and
mid-career professionals. Besides education, the
Institute is a primary provider of training and research
based consultancy to both the Government and
corporate sectors.
The Institute has trained more than 45,500 business
professionals in trade policy through its Management
Development Programmes. IIFT has carried out
collaborative projects with WTO, World Bank, UNCTAD,
University of Central England and EU.
Over the years, IIFT has emerged as a premier institute in
Management Education focusing in the area of
International Business.
LIBA, established in 1979, is a premier management institute known for its academic excellence and value-based education. It provides management education to both fresh graduates seeking world-class management education and also to those who are already employed and want to enhance their managerial skills. The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (full-time) is being offered since 1995. Both the part-time and the full-time PGDM programmes are approved by the AICTE and the full-time programme is recognised by the AIU as equivalent to the MBA degree of Indian Universities. LIBA also has collaborations with several Universities overseas and seeks to imbibe a global mindset in its students.
Besides this, LIBA offers the following programmes: Ph.D. Programme, One-Year Executive PG Diploma Programmes, Certificate Programmes, Blended Learning (E-Learning) and Executive Postgraduate Programmes.

Admission Procedure
Eligibility :
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a recognized Indian or a Foreign University. Organizational sponsorship is preferred. Non – sponsored employed candidates may also be considered provided their applications are accompanied by a “No Objection Certificate” from their employers.
Application Procedure :
Application and Prospectus is available on payment of Rs. 500/-. Completed application forms to be submitted by latest 10th September 2010.
The admissions committee will make a preliminary evaluation of the applications. Those selected in the preliminary evaluation shall be called for an Interview on 12th September 2010.
At the time of Interview, candidates must
produce the following :
• Two latest passport size colour photographs• Provisional / Degree Certificate ( Original & self- attested copy)• Consolidated Marksheet ( Original & self - attested copy)
Candidates should appear for the Interview on the date
and time prescribed.
Fee StructureCandidates selected for the programme shall pay the prescribed fees not later than the date mentioned in their admission letter.

The Fees must be paid by way of D.D. in favor of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi. payable at New Delhi. Fees once paid will not be refunded.
Schedule of Classes
• The duration of the programme is 6 months from September 2010 - April 2011.
• The classes for the programme are held on Saturdays 5.00 p.m. - 8.30 p.m. & Sundays 10.00 a.m. - 1.30 p.m. in the campus of Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Loyola College, Chennai - 600 034.
• The Institute attaches great importance to regular and punctual attendance at classes. Prior permission from the Director is necessary for absence. Continuous absence will result in removal of the names from the rolls.
Faculty
• The programme will be handled by highly qualified faculty both from IIFT, LIBA and Industry experts.
• The range of teaching methods used in the programme includes formal lectures, followed by discussions, case studies, group discussions and exercises.In addition to classroom activities, seminars and workshops involving industry experts are organized as a part of the learning process. Throughout the programme, participants are encouraged and given opportunities to involve in course work in order to bring about a greater effectiveness of the teaching-cum-learning process.

In order to upgrade the knowledge of working executives of export enterprises, service agencies and institutions like banks, insurance, chambers of commerce and enhance their operational competence, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, has been offering a 4-month Certificate Programme in Export Management since 1977-78.
A thorough knowledge of the various facets of international business is important in the present global economic and trading environment. Intense competition in world markets, in particular, poses a challenge to executives engaged in export marketing pursuits.
Unless they keep themselves abreast with the new developments, rapid changes in international business practices and innovative marketing strategies pursued by the competitors, export executives cannot effectively capitalize on the available or emerging market opportunities.
