Early Bronze Age, 2250–1500 b.c

1600 BC. A lot of natural gold throughout Iberian Peninsula leads to a burgeoning gold-working tradition.

Though gold was evidently a desirable material for jewelry in both life and death.

Iberian goldsmiths produced a limited range of objects including decorated sheets, rings, beads, and bracelets.

Cups and bowls were also made from gold.

The Carthaginians combine forces with the Etruscans to

gain control of the Mediterranean.

The Carthaginian attack on Saguntum results in the

Second Punic War.Carthage surrenders and is forced to pay an enormous war indemnity and abandon

all its possessions in the Iberian Peninsula
