October is absolutely one of my favourite times of the year and it is really beautiful everywhere you look around – golden leaves colours and foliage, nature hikes, Thanksgiving holiday and Halloween – a month full of treats for everyone!
Whether you enjoy nature walks or the spooky Halloween costumes and treats, or Thanksgiving gathering, I wish you and your loved ones will enjoy this time of the year.
With the unprecedented times we are witnessing globally during the past few months in 2020 that have literally changed the course of our life and the way we live. Like everyone, I found myself and my family going through a stressful and demanding period of time. There’s a real emotional impact on our life and mental health, and I’ve personally went through it myself and with those around us. Keeping our family healthy and safe has become everyone’s biggest priority.
I’ve found the only way for myself to turn around and stay away from living with anxiety or fear, is to give thanks and feel a daily appreciation for every aspect of my life. Despite the challenge of being a solo parent and a business owner, I feel incredibly blessed that Justin and I are healthy, and we have family & friends, school, tennis lessons and nature walks. I also feel empowered when I see my entire Team’s tremendous dedication and hard work as we help more than 50 families move to their new homes while navigating through the pandemic! I am grateful for the trust and support of our clients. Meeting warm and caring people is truly what makes our work so rewarding. Focusing on my commitment to impact the lives of families for our clients and team members is what truly lifts my spirits and motivates me every day to get up and move forward with strong purpose. Thank you for your continuous support and your relationship means so much to me and our team and families!

One aspect of the Thanksgiving season can actually lift the spirits, and it’s built right into the holiday –expressing gratitude. It is a time for us all to be grateful to have our health, family & friends, home, job or business. Giving thanks can make you happier, feel more positive emotions, improve health, deal with adversity, relish good experiences, and build strong relationships. It’s also a time to think about others and to help and give back to those less fortunate in our community.
During this season, take the time to give thanks, lend a helping hand, give support in any way that we can for one another. Thanksgiving is a perfect time for this and for us to connect together and celebrate the blessings in our life.

My heart breaks for many young people and families who will not be able to enjoy this traditional time of the year dining on a turkey feast.
Tragedy falls on many in this life. Tragedies like crisis, emergencies and violence. We aim to do what we can to help kids who are unable to stay healthy or safe in their community, so our Big mission to raise $10,000 for Plan International Canada is on! As you probably know Plan International Canada does great work in helping kids improve their education and survive violence, emergencies and crisis in their countries. And since Plan International is a nonprofit, they depend on Sponsorships and Donations to continue their leading-edge care and keep costs down for the families of these amazing kids. We remain committed to donating a portion of our income from selling homes to the great work that they do. So, YOUR REFERRALS HELP THE KIDS!

While I grew up right here in Brampton/Mississauga, I was born in Vietnam. I remember when I first decided to sponsor a child with Plan Canada in the mall with my son Justin at the time he was only 5 years old. To my surprise, my sponsor child is a little girl born the same year as Justin only a few months apart, and from Vietnam, the country where I was born and forced to flee after the war. When I received the pictures and family profile of Le, I saw that she has a brother and I requested to sponsor both Le and her brother, Luc. It really touched my heart and changed the way I see my life with my son; supporting in a way that can impact the lives of a family living in my home country halfway around the world. It has become my heart’s desire to go and visit Le and Luc in North Vietnam, with my son Justin. My life is no longer just about myself and my son, it’s much bigger and so much more, to be able to contribute even in small ways to the world that we live in. I’m proud to support Plan Canada with the goal of raising money and donating portion of our income to help their quest to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty. Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) President Lisa Patel announced that the strong rebound in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) home sales continued with a record result for the month of August. GTA REALTORS® reported 10,775 residential sales through TRREB’s MLS® System in August 2020 – up by 40.3% compared to August 2019. Sales were up for all major home types, both in the City of Toronto and the GTA regions. The low-rise market segments, including detached and semi-detached houses and townhouses, were the drivers of sales growth. Condominium apartment sales were up on an annual basis for the second straight month but to a lesser degree. “Increased demand for ownership housing has been based on improving economic conditions, in terms of monthly GDP growth and job creation, and the continuation of very low borrowing costs. In addition, fewer households have chosen to go on vacation as a result of COVID-19 and instead have remained in the GTA and been active in the housing market, satisfying pent-up demand from the spring,” said Ms. Patel.
“Generally speaking, market conditions remained very tight in the GTA resale market in August. Competition between buyers was especially strong for low-rise home types, leading to robust annual rates of price growth. However, with growth in condominium apartment listings well-outstripping condo sales growth, con-do market conditions were comparatively more balanced, which was reflected in a slower pace of price growth in that segment,” said Jason Mercer, TRREB’s Chief Market Analyst. From August 2019 to August 2020, the overall average selling price was up by 20.1% to $951,404.
