Exalted Rulers Message
The month of August has found our Lodge with 11 new members. What a great addition! I encourage all of members to reach out to your friends and neighbors and show them what we as Elks do for our community.
This year so far we have purchased 2 new Kayaks for Riverside park, we purchased 2 monitoring units for the Sheriffs office for persons with Alzheimer's disease. Our lodge has sponsored the Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, sponsored a Little League baseball team. We contributed a $2,000 grant to Honor Flight, $6,200 in Student Scholarships in 2014 and $8,500 in Student Scholarships this summer. We also contributed $1,500 to the Backyard Mission Trip, $500 to the American Red Cross Military Bash, $500 to CASA/GAL of Hancock County. In June we Hosted the Hancock County Veterans Office resource fair in our Banquet Hall and then gave our county Veterans and their families a free dinner. At the Hancock County Fair we are partnered with the County Veterans Office and will sponsor the Veterans that comes to the County Veterans Booth a $5 food voucher at the fair.
With all of this said, tell your friends and neighbors what the Elk's are all about!!! OUR COMMUNITY AND IT'S CITIZENS!!! Take a membership application to them and give them the opportunity to be a part of the great organization.
I would like to thank all the Volunteers that have given their time to our Lodge. Sunday august 30 we had a cookout for them. For those who could not make it, I am sorry you couldn't be there but we want you to know we do appreciate you and all you do.
On Labor Day we are having a cookout for all Elk's and Pool/Tennis club. JD Owen (of Put in Bay fame) will be at the Elk's playing his tunes. The cookout and event are free. There will be free burgers/dogs/brats. So come hungry.
Also the 2 weekends following Labor Day, the pool will be open on Saturday and Sunday from noon - 8pm and is open to anyone. This would be a great time to invite your friends and neighbors to come and enjoy the pool and tennis courts.
Thanks to All, Jim

It won’t be hot much longer and soon the sounds of football will fill our senses. If you want to get
the weekly emails of what is coming up and what is going on in our Lodge, or you know someone
who wants to get the emails, please send me an email to [email protected] so I can add you
to the email list.
A dues notice to delinquent members was recently mailed. Please pay your dues promptly, as
dues income is the single most important source of revenue we have. The Lodge thanks you very
much for supporting the great things we do in the community. Dues are $128 for the full year and
$64 for half of the Lodge year. Life members pay $68 per year. The people who paid for 6
months will owe $64.You cannot win any money in the drawings or technically be in the Lodge
until your dues are paid. You may write a check to BPOE 75 and mail it to PO Box 208 Findlay
45839-0208. You may drop your dues off at the Lodge. I have a box in the lounge. You can go
online to www.findlayelks.org and pay your dues ONLINE! Of course cash is good as always.
Don’t forget to buy your Ohio Elks Association (OEA) calendars in the lounge. The cost is $20
and the Lodge keeps $5 and the other $15 goes to the OEA. Some of the money will help pay for
youth scholarships, scouting projects and many other very worthwhile charities. The best part is
that you can with from $50 to $500. The calendars will have a four digit number on them. This
will be tied to the Ohio Lottery’s pick 4 game which is done twice daily. If your number is drawn,
you win. You don’t have to keep track of anything because the money is automatically sent to
your house. It’s a great way to benevolent and you have 730 chances to win. Findlay Lodge 75
has had TWO WINNERS already this year! They make GREAT presents for friends or family.
The 2016 calendars are now available in the Lounge.
During the meeting of August 13th, the applications of Mike Shuller (proposed by Bo Moser),
Christopher Meyer (proposed by John Snyder), Michael Bloomfield (proposed by Brian Snyder),
Paul Smith, J. Heath Kreiling (proposed by Jim Kreiling), Will Miller, Dennis Turner (proposed
by Vaun Wickerham) Kim Peplinski and Steve Bartel proposed by Ken Bahler were read. The
Lodge approved the membership of Stephanie Ramm. Jeff Miller, AJ Granger and Stephanie
Ramm were regularly initiated. There was a special meeting on August 29th for the purposes of
voting in and initiating the nine who were read at the Aug 13th meeting only. Regularly initiated
were Mike Shuller (proposed by Bo Moser), Christopher Meyer (proposed by John Snyder),
Michael Bloomfield (proposed by Brian Snyder), Paul Smith, J. Heath Kreiling (proposed by Jim
Kreiling), Will Miller, Dennis Turner (proposed by Vaun Wickerham) Kim Peplinski (proposed
by Ken Bahler). Ask someone to be an Elk. Being an Elk has made a positive contribution to your
life. Now it is time to pay it forward and help out someone else improve their life by becoming an
Elk.
We remember our absent members who passed away during this Lodge year. They include Robert
McKinney, Lester Roller, James Speck, Gilbert Newton, Frederick Hunter, Robert Niswander and
Norman Strathman. Their faults lie upon the sand but their virtues are written on the tablets of
love and memory.
It pays to come to Lodge! On August 13th Scott Neff was a loser of $70 because he was not at
Lodge. Come to Lodge so you can win. There are two meetings in September and they are on
10th and 24th. There will be an initiation on the 24th.
See you at the Lodge
