White - House Recommenda t ion s

1. Sauvignon Blanc – Gable View – South Africa A South African Sauvignon with gooseberry flavours and crisp acidity. Softness is the key, making this “New World” wine a good accompaniment to fish and white meat dishes. 2 . Pinot Grigio – La Maglia - Italy ½ A crisp dry pinot grigio with soft lemon flavours and very well balanced, gentle acidity making it suitable for drinking with or without food .

Other Whit e s f rom around th e wor ld 3 . Chenin Blanc – Will iam Robertson – South Africa A South African wine with very soft acidity, hints of passion fruit and a touch of lemon. This lovely delicate wine has ample fruit but delivers it smoothly therefore complimenting many fish and white meat dishes. 4 . Chardonnay – The Paddock – Austral ia A full flavoured Chardonnay from the Southern Hemisphere. This is a medium-bodied dry wine with subtle green apple flavours and light acidity balancing the soft, tropical fruit and hints of vanilla.

5 . White Rioja – Azabache - Spain Dare to be different. The grape used is Viura which offers subtle floral hints both on the nose and in the mouth. A good alternative to other better known white wines such as Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio. 6. Chablis – Louis Jadot – Burgundy – France Jadot is one of the best known producers in France. Their wines are consistently good with gentle acidity and a flinty dryness only the French seem to be able to get. A classic wine !

7 . Sauvignon Blanc – Tokomaru Bay – Marlborough New Zealand This gem of a Sauvignon comes with loads of fresh gooseberry acidity as we have come to expect from Marlborough wines. The grapefruit and melon hints really make this a cracking bottle full of zesty lively flavours.

Rosé Wines 8. Zinfandel – The Bulletin - California This Zinfandel sweet wine is a fabulous pink colour, bursting with summer fruits of of strawberry and raspberry with hints of passion fruit. A great little “quaffer”.

9 . Pinot Grigio Rosé - La Maglia - Italy

This is a soft dry rosé with hints of raspberry and gentle melon flavours. A lovely accompaniment to lighter dishes. It is also perfect on its own to simply drink with friends !

Red - House Recommenda t ions

10. Cabernet Sauvignon – Gable View – South Africa A South African Cabernet Sauvignon with with bags of up-front summer fruit of Blackcurrant and Raspberry. Very easy to drink on its own or a good match for most lighter dishes such as Pasta. 11 . Shiraz - The Paddock - Austral ia This is a great Shiraz for giving loads of fruit and warmth from this spicy grape full of dark Cherry flavour. A lovely all-rounder with or without food with its soft tannins and long finish.

12. Rioja Tempranillo Azabache– Spain A medium to full bodied Rioja with loads of fruit. Bright ruby red coloured with a nose of ripe cherries and plums. The finish is long, soft and has hints of vanilla, making it one of our favourites. 13. Malbec Le Potager - France Malbec is synonymous with Argentina but this one has rich dark fruit and comes from the warm wine-lands in Southern France. Perfect with steak and hearty red meat dishes. 14. Merlot – Veneto Ca Luca - Italy This medium bodied Merlot has soft plum flavours and is very easy drinking without the tannins and oak that sometimes mask the flavour of this popular grape. A great quaffer!! 15. Chateau Gachon St. Emil ion - Bordeaux Classic French claret from a producer that has won many awards. This Typical Bordeaux blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon has rich summer fruits of plum and blackcurrant with a hint of oak on the finish. A soft gentle wine with a note of complexity.

16. Pinot Noir – Croix d’Or - France A light fruit driven Pinot Noir with hints of raspberry and cherry. This is not a big heavy wine. It’s gentle and complex balance of fruit, acidity and freshness make it ideal with white meat and salads.

Bubbl e s - Sparkl ing Wines & Champagnes 17. Prosecco Arcobello – Italy A perfect blend of gentle fruit, acidity, small bubbles and fun !! This is a delightful Prosecco that has won many fans 18. Champagne Malherbe Brut Grande Reserve NV This wine is a great example of a Champagne with crispness and well-rounded fruit with the advantage of outstanding value. Lovely. 19. Champagne George Vesselle Grand Cru Vintage 2006 There are only fourteen villages in the Champagne region that are given Grand Cru status and all the vineyards from this producer fall within the Grand Cru awarded status of the village of “Bouzy”. A delightful Champagne. 20. Pink Champagne - Laurent Perrier Rosé An absolute favourite with its hints of Strawberry and Melon with just a touch of softness making it a drink for special occasions or just to have with good friends and enjoy.
