THE ISSUESBeyond innovation – Toward convergence

As the clean energy industry moves beyond vertical innovation, previously disconnected businesses from electricity to auto, from oil and gas to water, are converging. This horizontal shift presents challenges to both incumbents and new entrants as technologies and regulations tailored for one sector now need to work for many.

As in industry, so too in politics, the debate is softening and converging towards a middle ground, as contentious issues around cost and environmental concern are reconciled. And, as in politics, so too in public, the broader discussion is moving away from hyperbole to strike a more steady balance in understanding common challenges.

Join 500 industry leaders at the 2013 Summit to examine these issues and define the agenda for the year to come.

THE PEOPLEParticipation is by invitation only, ensuring each individual is selected for his or her ability to contribute to the Summit. The 2013 Summit aims to convene 600 participants with additional viewing via mass-media and online/digital platforms. The audience is composed attendees from banking & finance (~40%), corporates (~40%), and government/NGO (~20%).

THOUGHT LEADERSThe Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit is supported by some of the most influential clean energy and carbon market Thought Leaders from across the world, representing finance, industry, government and academia. Thought Leaders catalyze frank, open and vigorous discussions delivering critical insights on the issues driving this industry forward.

Please find within this prospectus an overview of the Summit’s breadth and key facts from past editions, followed by a selection of Past Thought Leaders.

INTRODUCTION The Bloomberg New Energy Finance Summit is the annual leading discussion forum for decision-makers in clean energy.

Total new investment in clean energy increased 13% to $280bn in 2011, despite the sluggish global economy and a painful squeeze on manufacturers. The Summit is an invitation-only forum providing an unrivalled meeting place at the intersection of the energy markets, industry, finance and policy. Year on year the Summit offers the opportunity to tackle the issues that will drive this industry forward, to network, to do business.

A global community of thought leaders will address the issues that are critical and strategically important - and create frameworks for future market developments.

Building on the success of five previous editions in London and New York, the 6th annual Summit will take place for the third time in New York on 22-24 April 2013.
