An exciting opportunity has arisen for District Charge Nurse to join the community nursing teams within the Cowdenbeath locality to support the delivery of high quality care for a wide variety of patients.

You will have responsibility for the line management and clinical leadership of a District Nursing team providing nursing care to a defined patient caseload.

Excellent time management skills and a flexible person centred approach as well as the ability to effectively prioritise workload are essential requirements to enable patients to remain as independent as possible in their own homes.

You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be committed to the development of an effective nursing team through your ongoing professional development as well as that of your team.

Community experience is essential and candidates must possess a Specialist Practitioner Qualification in Community Nursing in the Home / District Nursing. A rare opportunity has arisen for A Nurse Team Leader to join the Children and Young People’s Community Nursing Service. This service is part of the Fife Wide Division of the Health and Social Care Partnership. The Nurse Team Leader will work closely with the Nurse Team Manager and will have responsibility for a group of registered nurses that provide direct nursing care to children and young people that attend special schools and / or respite services. The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with complex healthcare needs and their families. You must be first level registered nurse and ideally be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience or competencies associated with this level of qualification. You should have experience of working with children/young people with complex healthcare needs, ideally gained within a school nursing setting, and be able to demonstrate excellent communication, time management, organisational and interpersonal skills. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated nurse to join the Sexual Health nursing team in Fife. The team delivers high quality, specialist care to the people of Fife who attend Sexual Health services across the region.

The service is modern, innovative and provides care across Fife in a variety of settings. The service also works closely with third sector partners and the wider community.

You will ideally have experience in all aspects of sexual health care and be an independent nurse prescriber. If you have a keen interest in working in the specialty but do not yet have these skills you will be considered under the Annex 21 agreement where full training will be given at a percentage of the Band 6 salary with progressing to the full salary on completion of predetermined competencies.

Trainees are paid a percentage of the pay band maximum for the qualified rate which is dependent on the duration of the training period (see terms and conditions in job pack).

This is a busy integrated unit that provides Out-Patients, Treatment Room and Minor Injuries services to patients in Cupar and the surrounding area. You will have evidence of continuing professional development and should have completed a recognised Emergency Nurse Practitioner qualification. You should also possess excellent team working, time management and communication skills.Practitioners will be expected to undertake out-patients and treatment room duties in addition to treating patients attending with minor injuries therefore experience in these areas is desirable. Hours will be worked flexibly Mon-Fri between 8am and 6pm to cover the needs of the service.

NHS Fife Research & Development Department is seeking to employ a Research Nurse to increase patient recruitment into research studies across a range of specialties in Fife. We are looking to recruit this senior research nurse for an exciting and challenging post based within the R&D Department.

As a member of the NHS Fife R&D Team you will support investigators to undertake a range of commercial and non-commercial, eligibly funded research. You will be responsible for leading a team in various aspects of study management including helping with study approvals, set up, patient recruitment, and providing excellent clinical care, education, support and monitoring of those participants enrolled.

Additionally, you will be involved with accurate and confidential data collection, liaising with national trial centres and study monitors. You will work collaboratively with Principal and Chief Investigators and the wider multi-disciplinary teams in the management of your own caseload of research patients and studies.

The post would be ideally suited to an experienced nurse with excellent organisational and IT skills. Both extensive previous clinical experience and clinical trials work experience is essential for this Band 6 role, as is the ability to manage a number of concurrent projects.

You will have knowledge of research principles (including confidentiality, randomisation procedures, informed consent and ethical issues), and an understanding of research within the context of the Research Governance Framework and Good Clinical Practice.

Attention to detail and strong communication skills are key requirements, along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ability to travel between all sites within NHS Fife is essential.

In line with the national arrangements for pay and banding of trainees, this post is open to suitable individuals who can demonstrate an ability to develop in to the role of Nurse Practitioner following the successful completion of a structured academic and in-house training programme.

Individuals who meet the full requirements for Nurse Practitioner will commence on Band 6. Those applicants who are interested in developing in to the role following the successful completion of academic qualifications will commence on Band 5 in line with Annex 21(pay and banding of trainees). You will be responsible for managing a caseload of complex / highly complex patients experiencing mental health problems ensuring they receive specialist assessments from the National baseline assessment toolkit as well as evidence based interventions. You will also work alongside the band 7 service manager to ensure that all systems and processes are of high quality and that staff development and performance are supported and monitored. You will also be responsible for supporting service development and improvement in line with national strategies and drivers and supporting staff in any service development or change. They will also professionally supervise other occupational therapists and be fieldwork educators and provide supervision to students on placement in the service.

The mental health occupational therapy service is a Fife wide service and staff are expected to work on all sites at times if there is a need or demand to do so. NHS Fife is an award winning Mental Health Occupational Therapy service and is committed to personal development through the provision of protected CPD time, in service training and a comprehensive induction programme. This is supported by a College of Occupational Therapist endorsed clinical supervision training programme and the AHP Mental Health Advanced Practitioner Framework, all of which are recorded and reviewed through the TURAS system. You will be expected to provide support and deputise for senior pharmacists and undertake supervision of less experienced pharmacists, technicians and students. Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills are key attributes required to successfully deliver this role.

The FRDU provides a holistic service focusing on early and intensive intervention for patients with rheumatic conditions. There are also clinics for Adolescent Rheumatology and a monthly Young Adult Clinic. We have a weekly Virtual Clinic to discuss complex patients who may need biological therapies. There is a 6 monthly combined Ophthalmology / Rheumatology clinic. Day Unit facilities are at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. There are close links with all Acute services within Victoria Hospital and Queen Margaret Hospital.

Experience in Rheumatological ultrasound is considered desirable.

Currently there is no on-call required of the post holder however in the future on call may become part of the duties of the consultant group. Contributing to emergency response during normal working hours is expected.

The department (Fife CAMHS) includes a core group of experienced and well qualified clinicians from a number of disciplines, including, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Child Psychotherapy and dietetics. The post holder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists. The service has one core trainee from the Edinburgh training scheme and currently also a Higher trainee.

We have been at the forefront in Scotland in developing an Intensive Therapy Service including Eating Disorders to offer community based support for children and young people with severe mental health problems. Other multi-disciplinary teams provide services for young people and children who self harm, for looked after children and for children and young people who have been sexually abused. As consultant psychiatrist you will be required to provide an input to all teams with a special emphasis on the Intensive Therapy. Generic work will include ADHD with co morbid presentations, anxiety, depression and psychosis. The Tier 3 ADHD pathway currently sits within the community paediatric service. It has been established for 10 years and includes nurses (with prescribing role), and psychologists. It offers assessment and treatment for young people with ADHD, including parent education groups and transition clinics for adolescents. The medical input into the pathway is provided by consultant child and adolescent psychiatrists.

The establishment in 2005 of the Playfield Institute as a resource for skills development, research and the provision of information, has opened up new opportunities for the successful post holder to receive support for research and engage in a range of training events.

You will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic group of GPs. We benefit from being a large practice with a team of 9 GP partners and 1 salaried GP. We employ unscheduled care practitioners, chronic disease nurses, a practice pharmacist and a mental health nurse to help with some of the work traditionally done by GPs. The practice has an excellent administrative set-up and is highly organised and efficient, and this is one of the benefits of working with us. We operate from two modern purpose built premises in Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay and run a consulting room facility one day per week in Aberdour.

Our main surgery at Inverkeithing is situated just across the Forth Road Bridge and is approximately 20 minutes commute from central Edinburgh and within easy reach from Perth/Stirling.

Rothes Medical Practice, in Glenrothes, Fife is seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to compliment their medical team. Our Practice list is approximately 8800 and is based at Pitteuchar Health Centre which is a modern purpose built premises within easy access of the A92.

We are seeking a highly motivated nurse to work alongside our General Practitioners and existing Nursing Team. The applicant should possess the skills to work autonomously and have the ability to provide same day appointments for our patients in order to manage the demand for acute illness. Applicants should have previous work experience enabling competent history taking, physical examination, problem solving and clinical decision making with the experience to make professional autonomous decisions. We require the applicant to have an Advanced Practice Masters qualification and be a registered non-medical prescriber.

The position is ideally full time but we are a family friendly Practice and would aim to be as flexible as possible within our surgery rota. The salary will be dependent on experience and comparable with Agenda for Change banding.
