Our Gracious and merciful God, In Jesus Christ you came as the Servant, and you call us to be a servant people. But we do not do what you command. We are often silent when we should speak, and useless when we could be useful. Have mercy on us, O God. As you forgive us and free us from sin, allow our lives to be filled with gratitude to serve you with joy! We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This Sunday’s Team will be serving at the Gardens of Venice. They are: Wilson and Florence Barker, Steve and Sandy Aldrich; Doda Rye; Doris Kerper; Brenda Ward, Music Leader; Jim and Shirley Kmetz, Pianist. We would love to have others of the Trinity Family join us for this time of worship. Our Boomers&MORE will gather this Wednesday, August 16th at 6pm. Come join us for a shared meal, Bible Study, fellowship and discussion on the clips from the movie THE SHACK.

This Week we will have a special treat — the main dish will be provided. Bring a side, salad, or dessert to share. Copies of THE SHACK are available on loan in the church office.

Pastor Chuck continues with the Summer Preaching Series on THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT found in Galatians 5:22-23. The seventh “fruit” that flows as we grow in grace is that of FAITHFULNESS.

Looking to dig deeper? In the Old Testament, God's faithfulness and covenant love are closely related (Psalm 25:10 ; 85:10 ). In the New Testament, God also acts in faithfulness by providing for both good and evil people (Matthew 5:45) and God provides a way out for believers going through the fiery trials of life (1 Corinthians 10:13 ); he remains faithful as he fulfills his promises ( 2 Corinthians 1:18-19 ).

We are reminded in 2 Timothy 2:13 that even when we are faithless, God remains faithful because to do so would deny his own character. (2 Timothy 2:13 ). The ultimate picture of faithfulness is Jesus himself who is called “the faithful and true witness” and “Faithful and True.” (Revelation 3:14; 19:11)
