The First article: Life size toy tiger sparks police alert.

The First article: Life size toy tiger sparks police alert. It was written by Associated press and it was printed on the Straits times on 25 May 2011. The article is about the police who mistaken the tiger as a real tiger. The tiger was actually a large cuddly toy. The police said that the tiger actually looked very realistic. I agree with the policeman that the tiger looked very realistic as when I looked at the picture of the toy tiger it did really looked very real indeed. I also agree with the author that the efforts to capture the tiger is a waste of time. This article is related to something that looks real but it is actually not real. I managed to come across words such as traipsed and renegade and phrases such as the penny finally dropped. The article tells me that looks can be deceiving.

The second article: Used syringes, over 30 found in swamp. The second article title is Used syringes, over 30 found in swamp. It was written by Kimberly Spykerman and Jalelah Abubaker and it was printed on the Straits times on 3 June 2011. The article is about students who went to cleanup Kranji found more than 30 used syringes, with needles still attached. The international coastal cleanup Singapore suggested that the syringes could have been washed up rather than the result of a gathering of drug abusers in the swarm. I agree with the international coastal cleanup Singapore as drug users would probably not go there as during the night, it is very dark and that part of Singapore shoreline is not very hospitable. I agree with the author that finding syringes is much more sinister than the usual plastic bottles and food packaging as it is unusual to find so many syringes in a cleanup. The words that I came across in this article is sinister, hospitable and intravenous. This article tells me that there are still drug abusers in the world.

The third article: Two chemicals in food containers and coffee cups carry cancer riskThe third article is two chemicals in food containers and coffee cups carry cancer risk. It was written by New York Times, Associated press and Reuters and it was printed on the Straits times on June 2011. The article is about two chemicals which was found in food containers and coffee cups linked to cancer. The chief medical officer said that formaldehyde which is one of the chemicals in both worrisome and inescapable. I agree with the chief medical officer that formaldehyde is both worrisome and inescapable as it is found everywhere. I agree with the author that the chemicals will not always cause cancer as it depends on how much of the chemical a person is exposed to and for how long, as well as his own genetic make-up. The words that I came across in this article flagged and lobbying. This article tells me that we should avoid exposure to the two chemicals stated in this article.
