Most scholars think Armageddon comes from harmegiddon, meaning “hill of Megiddo.” The area has quite a history. Excavations of Megiddo have revealed 20 layers of occupation dating from the fourth millennium B.C. to about 450 B.C. The site is about 18 miles south-southeast of the Port of Haifa in northern Israel and about 55 miles north of Jerusalem by Jerold Aust Another Thought- A careful study of verses 14 through 16 will show the meaning of this term clearly. Verse 14 mentions the battle of the great day of God Almighty. Next, verse 15 refers to the righteous: “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” Christ is speaking in verse 15, and He personally gives His people a gentle warning to be on their guard when Satan masquerades as Christ. Verse 16 says, “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” Who does the “he” in this verse refer to? It has to refer to the person who is speaking in the previous verse, the “I” in verse 15. Who does the “them” refer to? It must refer to the righteous about whom Christ is speaking in verse 15. The meaning of verse 16 becomes clear when one realizes who the personal pronouns refer to in this verse. Let us read verse 16 and indicate the proper meaning of these pronouns: “And he (Christ, who spoke in verse 15) gathered them (the righteous of verse 15) together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.” Armageddon, therefore, refers not to the battle of verse 14 but to Christ and the righteous of verse 15. --Armageddon, therefore, are the places all over the world where Christ gathers the righteous to escape the wrath of the wicked and to wait for the return of the Lord. Countdown to Destructionnow things begin wildly spinning out of control and yet somehow there is a chance for redemption present for those who are marked in the Beast’s Kingdom but little hope for them. They count the scars and bowls of wrath in self-righteous indignation without pause or remorse for their evil allegiance

So it’s not the end of the world.... or is it.. sometimes it is hard to know with everything going on, governments failing, nations warring, children starving, people hurting, babies crying, fish drowning, rivers spawning mutant animals... yup the world may not be ending but everything seems to be changing... so what do we do... where do we turn?... is this the end? Wrath “Beast and the Harlot” or the story of the Woman of ill repute riding the Beast

So it is a bit unnerving that these two would be even given power for a little while but there is certainly no better picture than an hideous fast talking beasts and a deceitful whore to glorify the unholy beast kingdom. After all it is built on principles that

are contrary to Christ’s kingdom, and seeks only pleasure and power drinking blood and feasting on greed“The treacherous pair that deserve each other”

Seven Bowls of Wrath1- Sores- painful to the beast marked2-Sea- becomes like blood3-Springs and Rivers- like blood “the evildoers spilled the blood of the prophets now it is their blood they will drink”4-Sun - scorches with fire5-Throne of the Beast plunges his kingdom into darkness and the people did not repent6-Great river dries up, frogmouthed dragon (tongue-flied?) Kings of East prepare for battle- Armageddon7-”It is finished”“And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake. The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath. And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found. And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.” (Revelation 16:18–21 ESV)

The Place Called ArmageddonWell Johnny tell them where it is... we dont officially know, we can only guesstimate if it is even a real place or an amalagmation of places

One Thought-The word Armageddon can be traced to Megiddo, a significant fortified town in Palestine in ancient times. Most scholars think Armageddon comes from harmegiddon, meaning “hill of Megiddo.” The area has quite a history. Excavations of Megiddo have revealed 20 layers of occupation dating from the fourth millennium B.C. to about 450 B.C. The site is about 18 miles south-southeast of the Port of Haifa in northern Israel and about 55 miles north of Jerusalem by Jerold Aust

Another Thought- A careful study of verses 14 through 16 will show the meaning of this term clearly.

So what is Armageddon, is it a place already or a place not yet fulfilled, the battle rages on and we struggle with not words but with hope!
