Article I: Agreement Three year contract:oJuly, 2015 to June, 2018.

Article VI: Association Rights Officers and negotiators will have 48 LHE of

reassignment during each academic year

The Association may purchase 12 additional LHE at backfill rates

Summer LHE:

o3 for the President

o1 for Chief Negotiator, 3 during negotiations

Article VIII: Negotiation Procedures

Notification of intent to bargain can take place on or after September 1, allowing negotiations to begin earlier

Article IX: Unit Stability Require mutual agreement between the

Association and the District when the duties and responsibilities in an original job announcement must be changed so that a faculty member can make load

Article XIV: Assignment, Contract Year, Hours of Service, and Professional Duties

Office hours must be published for students

Office hours may be held on-line as mutually agreed between dean and faculty member

Paid student consultation time for part-time classroom faculty members: 20 minutes per LHE

Require mandatory training as negotiated with the Association or required by law

Require first-year full-time faculty to attend orientation

Require attendance at Commencement or appropriate graduation ceremony, unless participating in District-affiliated conflicting event

Article XV: Workload Create “practicum” course definition

oCourses previously loaded 1:1 will be labs

oCourses previously loaded at 1.2:1 will be Practicum

Create petition process for designation of labs and practicum courses

Reduce minimum class size for classes capped at or under 25 to 18

Large lecture not allowed for classes used for productivity incentive or class averaging

Allow part-time faculty to accept extra duty day assignments

Add extra duty days for Articulation officer, Dance, Nursing and Sand Volleyball Coach

Revise and simplify chair compensation model

Revise CWE compensation model, and increase compensation

Article XVII: Evaluations Tenure Review process

o Add a section delineating the steps of the tenure process

o Add a non-voting faculty mentor/advocate to the TRC

o Add a portfolio submitted by the probationary faculty member

o Specify on-line evaluation conditions

o Allow TRC to use student evaluations (for probationary faculty members only)

o Include information about activities other than classroom observation in formal evaluation
