THE CLIFFS at WALNUT COVETHE CLIFFS at WALNUT COVETHE CLIFFS at WALNUT COVE

Located in Asheville, NC, Walnut Cove offers all the amenities one would expect – from spacious lounges, to high-

ceilinged locker rooms, to a full-service golf shop. Here, members gather with neighbors on covered porches over-

looking the practice area, practice their game in the evenings on the lighted putting green, or stop in for a bite to eat

at the The Tavern.

GOLF — Jack Nicklaus has designed a course that challenges every level of player while rewarding them with

an opportunity to have their best game of the year. Along with the visually striking aesthetic qualities of the

golf course, each hole provides dramatic vistas of the surrounding mountains. The front nine holes are rout-

ed through the open fields of what was once rolling farmland and play over and across the soft ridges. Holes

1 through 9 have been well bunkered to create multiple challenges and risk/reward opportunities. The back

nine plays more into the native woodland vegetation, crisscrossing over and around a number of mountain

streams. The trees that line these holes help to create their strong definition, while the streams become part

of their overall strategy. The golfing experience at Walnut Cove provides players with a wide variety of shot

values. With four sets of tees, every level of golfer can find a perfect fit for a memorable round.

WELLNESS — The expansive, 18,000 square feet, state-of-the-art Wellness Center at Walnut Cove features

an elegant expression of classic Tudor architecture with decorative half-timbering, cross gables and a steeply

pitched roofline.

river and mountain ridgelines are accentuated throughout.

The bump-and-run style fits perfectly with the topography of the land and Player’s choice of Zoysia grass on

the fairways, Bermuda grass on the greens and the use of native grasses and landscape materials throughout

tions, including Type II Diabetes and heart disease.

BODY AGE ASSESSMENTS

Through the use of TriFIT® technology, this innovative fitness assessment includes tests of cardiovascular

endurance, blood pressure, body composition, flexibility, and muscular strength to compute the body’s

true “age.” A Cliffs Wellness exercise physiologist performs health risk appraisals based on one’s body age

assessment and provides information on overall health risks and measures to reduce those risks.

CUSTOM FOOT ORTHOTICS

It has been well documented that physical activity is the key to good health. But it's hard to get much ac-

tivity in when you are experiencing pain. In many instances, the feet are the cause of the pain as they

affect every part of your body with every step you take. When the foot hits the ground, it creates a chain

reaction throughout the body meant to absorb the forces of gravity pushing you down and the ground

pushing back up. If the foot, due to its structure, cannot properly absorb and control the forces of the

ground reaction, tissue damage can occur anywhere in the body, especially at the knees, hips and low

back. Custom Foot Orthotics can compensate for the foot’s structure and eliminate pain. Contact Vance

Ferrigno at 864.660.1181 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
