The Christmas Star Trivet part 1 By: Pysselofix – Helena Molinsky
Yarn: Scheepjes Catona from Favoritgarner, nr 106-white, 115-red and 412-green. Hook: 3mm Trivet: A round coaster in cork, 19cm in diameter. Abbreviations (US) sl st – slip stitch ch - chain sc – single crochet hdc – half double crochet dc – double crochet ch sp – chain space fpdc – front post double crochet bpdc – back post double crochet bpsc – back post single crochet pic – picot (ch3, 1sl st in the first) sk – skip st – stitch tog - together

Tips and information
• In the beginning of every row the first stitch is replaced with chains. If it is a single crochet with one, a half double crochet or double crochet with tow.
• Every row is ending with a slip stitch on the top of the first stitch of the row
• Text written in italics is there as information and help, to make it easier.
• Make sure you can pull on the cover over your coaster before cutting the thread. It should not be too easy. Would it be far to small you can try to add a row of double crochet between row 14 and 15. Would it be to big can you skip row 16 and do row 15 twice instead.
Start with ch4, 1sl st in the first chain. 1: Red (3dc around the ring, ch3) x6
2: Red 1sl st to the middle stitch. (1sc in the middle st, 3dc around the ch sp, ch3, 1 sl st in the second ch, ch1. 3dc around the ch sp) x6.
3: White Start at the first chain after a tip. The last chain in the repeat should be behind the tip of row tow.

(1sc, ch3, sk 2st, the following three stitches are crochet together- 1sc, 1fpdc around the single crochet, 1sc. Ch3, sk 2st, 1sc around the ch, ch1.) x6
4: White 1sl st to the ch. (1sc, ch3, 1sc around the next ch sp, ch2. Around the chain behind the tip: 1hdc, 1dc, ch2, 1dc, 1hdc. Ch2.) x6
5: Green Start at any tip. (Around the ch sp: 1dc, ch1, 1dc. 1fpdc around the first st, 1fphdc around the next st, 1sc around the ch sp. Around the next ch sp: 2dc, ch1, 2dc. 1sc around the next ch sp. 1 fphdc around the next st, 1fpdc around the next st.) x6.
6: Red Start at any tip.

7: Red The chain spaces on this row should lie behind the work. Start in the first single crochet after any tip. 1bpsc. (ch5, 1bpsc around the single crochet closest to the next tip. Ch4, 1bpsc around the first single crochet after the tip.) x6
8: Green Start around the chain behind any tip. (4hdc. Around the next ch sp: 2hdc, 4dc, 2hdc.) x6

9: White Start in the first half double crochet in any 5ch sp. (2hdc, 4sc, 2hdc, 1bpdc around the second st before the tip on row 6. 4hdc, 1bpdc around the second st after the tip on row 6.) x6 Do not cut off the yarn.
