Mary lives in Mission Hills, Kansas. She has more than 25 years of experience in the employment and workforce management industry and has successfully coached many professionals to reach goals, enhance working relationships and improve team performance.

Presentation DescriptionMary offers advice from the smartest man she ever knew—her father. A butcher by trade, he was the greatest executive and career coach she ever encountered. Using her acclaimed book, Lunchmeat & Life Lessons: Sharing a Butcher’s Wisdom, as a springboard, Mary shares

what she learned from her father as well as from her own career in the people business.

Mary provides real world examples of how her father’s lessons resonate today. LEAD :: 2016 Educational Day

On March 17, the 2016 LEAD group spent its monthly gathering focused on education in our city, beginning with a Leadership Session with Pat Turner in the Chamber Boardroom. The class then toured the Metropolitan Community College, Business & Technology Campus and were blown away with the technology and skills the students there are graduating with. During lunch, the group had a chance to listen to a representative from Big Brothers & Big Sisters and how they are involved in the education of at-risk youth. The group then had the opportunity to learn the ins and out of the Academies of ISD and Project Rise and ended the day with a presentation from the National Education Association.

With two more classes to go, the 2016 LEAD class is almost ready to graduate in May!

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

“Look at a day when you are satisfied at the end. It’s not a day where you lounge around doing nothing. It’s when you’ve

had everything to do and you’ve done it.”

Seminar Recap

Big thank you to Kim Beer for presenting to us on how to best set yourself up for success at expos and tradeshows. The attendees gained great insight into promoting their booth space at the event, booth setup and follow-up afterwards.

Some of the key points Kim left us with:

1. You are there to talk to and educate attendees on your products/services, so have your elevator speech down!2. Keep all your promotional material waist up, so attendees don’t miss anything. 3. Keep your printed materials well stocked - attendees don’t like to take the last of something4. Have fun and be a good booth neighbor!

Fill a space like this. Monthly, quarterly, and annual rates are available.
