On Wednesday 15th and 22
nd June,
2016, our choir went to perform at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire to raise money for their project to make the hospital a friendlier place for children. They sang a selection of songs including a lovely arrangement of ‘Love Yourself’ by Justin Bieber and ‘Rather Be’ by Clean Bandit. The choir were an absolute credit to the school and gave some of their best ever performances. They will next be taking part in a workshop lead by the musical director of Voice in a Million with the aim of becoming one of the featured school choirs on the main stage at Wembley next year. They will also be performing at the Celebration Evening and end of term assembly.
Well done everyone! Mrs Edwards

Belgrade Youth Theatre Present Positive Images Festival
A huge well done to Belgrade Youth theatre participants Dev Soni, Lucy Gomes and Shamail Aldhafeeri who performed for the positive images festival last Saturday. The masked piece challenged negative stereotypes of the Muslim community and tackled radicalisation. Well done guys.

Year 9 students Farid Alhaji
and Basher Kdemati provided
a remarkable display of Syrian
culture at the Refugee
Welcome event on Saturday
at Primrose Hill Park. The stall
celebrated positive images of
the Syrian community,
their contribution to world
architecture and a taster of
Syrian cuisine. The boys also
performed a traditional Syrian
dance which received a huge
applause. Well done!

Refugee Welcome Event - A Taste of Syria!
On Wednesday afternoon, Barr's Hill took over Year 5 at Joseph Cash and gave them a taste of life at Barr's Hill. Each Year 5 pupil had a science lesson and a PE lesson. In PE they learnt new basketball skills and put them into practice in competition. In science they made and fired rockets. Because of the rain, we fired the rockets out of an open door onto the playground! All the pupils and staff had a great time and we answered questions about Barr's Hill and secondary school in general. A big thank-you to Mrs Burnside for arranging it and to Miss Marks, Dr Bancroft, Miss Kirkland and Mr Ballinger for running the sessions. Mr Orchard
