you choose. Driver and passengers are cocooned in a roomy, beautifully laid-out cabin

designed with just one priority: you. Enhanced materials and the ergonomic dash layout

to ergonomically designed sports seats with AGR1 certification. Or fit Bluetooth®-capable

1. CD 400 Plus stereo CD radio. The Notchback comes with the CD 400 Plus stereo

CD radio as standard. This six-speaker, 4 x 20 W sound system includes a Dynamic Sound

Processor, six sound presets and speed-dependent volume and bass control.

2. 16˝ steel wheels. A stylish cover gives these big rims a smart finish to match the

design of your Astra.

3. LED Daytime Running Lights. LEDs are more energy-efficient, last longer and look

better than the halogen equivalent – three good reasons to opt for them.

TOP-NOTCH.The Astra Notchback blends German-engineered quality with interior space and technology. Standard equipment includes air conditioning, Cruise Control with speed limiter, electric windows front and rear, and an aluminium bezel on the steering wheel. You can add optional 17˝ alloys, energy-efficient LED Daytime Running Lights, a sunroof and much more.

HEADLIGHTS WITH FORESIGHT.Intelligent driver aids are the hallmark of the Astra. One great example is the headlight technology Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward Lighting Plus (AFL+), the third generation of the AFL system from Opel. AFL makes driving at night just as easy as during the day. It uses a front-mounted camera, a rain sensor and steering angle input to improve visibility and safety, automatically adjusting the direction and strength of your headlights to suit different speeds, manoeuvres, weather conditions and traffic situations.

LED Daytime Running Lights. The optional intelligent AFL+ headlight system comes

with energy-efficient LEDs that make your car more visible to other road users.

High Beam Assist (HBA). Part of AFL+ and optionally available also for halogen

headlights, HBA makes driving at night safer and easier by automatically dipping your

headlights when it detects other vehicles ahead. It switches the lights back to high

beam when the road is clear.

Increased High Beam. Thanks to Bi-

Xenon technology, Increased High Beam

boosts the range and brightness of your

headlights by up to 15 % when they’re not

dipped.

Adverse Weather Light (up to 70 km/h).

Activated by wipers or a rain sensor, this

setting improves vision in wet weather.

Town Light (30–55 km/h). Spreads the

light wider and lower. Activated by vehicle

speed and street lighting.

Pedestrian Area Light (up to 30 km/h).

Highlights potential hazards with a wider

spread of light (an extra 8° left and right).

Static Cornering Light (up to 40 km/h,

also works in reverse). Throws light 90°

to the left or right, so you can see better

what’s around the corner.

Dynamic Curve Light (any speed).

The headlights turn into the curve by

up to 15°. Activated by steering angle

and speed.

Highway Light (over 115 km/h).

Raises, brightens and extends the beam to

140 metres – without blinding other drivers.

Country Road Light (55–115 km/h).

Wider and brighter than normal, for

a 70-metre dazzle-free beam.

TAKE A RIDE ON THE SAFE SIDE.

When it comes to safety, the Astra Notchback has got you covered. In addition to comprehensive restraint systems, you can rely on a whole raft of active and passive safety technologies to make driving more convenient and give you peace of mind.

Systematic safety. In the Astra Notch-

back, you are surrounded by a high-strength

steel rigid passenger cell as well as front,

side and curtain airbags. ISOFIX anchors

for child seats are fitted as standard.

The standard Tyre Pressure Monitoring

System (TPMS) helps you keep your tyres

at a safe pressure without having to stop

for unnecessary checks – a telltale in the

centre console warns you you if pressure

is low. The top-of-the-range TPMS will even

tell you which tyre needs pumping up, how

much air to put in and display a warning

in the instrument panel directly behind the

steering wheel.

1. Active headrests. By moving towards you when they detect

a collision, these intelligent headrests cushion your head and neck,

helping to reduce the effects of whiplash.

2. Rear View Camera (RVC) and display. The RVC gives you

a clear view of the area behind the car on your high-resolution

infotainment screen, enabling you to reverse smoothly and safely

without turning your head.

3. Hill Start Assist (HSA). HSA lets you start and park easily on

steep hills. For a few moments it automatically holds the brakes

for you, to stop you rolling unintentionally backwards or forwards

into obstacles or other vehicles.

Ergonomic AGR sports seats.2 Certified by the German AGR

(Campaign for Healthier Backs), centre of excellence for ergo-

nomics, AGR sports seats come with a wide range of adjustment

possibilities, including lumbar support and seat cushion extension,

that let you perfectly fine-tune your seating position to your

individual requirements.

Electric parking brake and centre armrest.

The push-button electric parking brake is

more than a quick and easy way to apply

the handbrake. It gives you the added

support of an adjustable armrest in the

front. The armrest is also available as part

of the optional centre console and includes

two cupholders as well as a closed storage

compartment.

Heated leather steering wheel.

Keep your hands warm in a cold snap

and enhance your grip with this optional

leather-bound wheel. It’s the perfect

add-on for optional heated front seats.

Superior Watt’s linkage rear suspension. If you like to push your car hard through

corners, Watt’s link delivers maximum grip and a stable ride on curvy roads. It stabilises

the rear axle by reducing unwanted lateral movement.

1. Navi 950 IntelliLink. This top-of-the-line navigation system gives you all the

advantages of IntelliLink technology for extensive smartphone integration –

including audio streaming via Bluetooth® – plus navigation with bird’s eye view

in 3D and one-shot voice recognition for destination entry.

Navigation and map configuration. For faster routing, the maps for more than

30 European countries are internally stored and can be updated via USB.

Get Smart.IntelliLink technology brings the most important functions of your smartphone and other mobile digital devices into the astra and allows safe and intuitive operation via voice or steering wheel control.

2. CD 600 IntelliLink. By seamlessly integrating your smartphone with IntelliLink

technology and displaying the most important functions on the high-definition 7˝ colour

display, the CD 600 IntelliLink sets new standards for convenience, connectivity and

safety. Make calls, audiostream your music via Bluetooth® or with Gracenote® file manage-

ment via USB and view pictures uploaded via USB. Your hands always stay on the

steering wheel thanks to integrated controls.

3. AUPEO!® app. With AUpeO!® preinstalled on IntelliLink units, you get access to news,

sport, podcasts and music via Internet radio.1

Text message readout. For increased safety, incoming text messages are delivered

vocally when you’re on the road with the possibility to call back or send a predefined

message. They are also shown in the display, but only when the car is stationary.

yOuR PRIVACy. yOuR CALL.YOU are in control of what OnStar can and cannot do!

• Once you’ve registered and activated OnStar, you can access every OnStar Service. To ensure security, several services will ask for your PIN.

• Press and hold the Privacy Button for approximately 5 seconds to mask your car’s location at any time. If you change your mind, press the Privacy Button again for approximately 5 seconds to reveal your location. Only in emergencies4 can OnStar override this.

• OnStar will never sell your information on. Your information will only be disclosed to OnStar and GM Holdings LLC (USA), its affiliate companies (e.g. Adam Opel AG), your selected/preferred dealers, companies involved in providing or carrying out the OnStar Services and, at your request, to other service companies.

Automatic Crash Response.In the event of a crash, built-in vehicle sensors automatically alert an OnStar advisor, who will be immediately connected to your car. The advisor will assess the situation and if needed notify the emergency services and provide them with your exact GPS location.1

Wi-fi Hotspot.1

In the future, you will be able to enjoy the benefits of fast and stable Internet access on board, with an integrated Wi-Fi Hotspot1 for up to 7 devices.1

Smartphone App.At the touch of a button, remotely lock/unlock your doors, check your oil life or honk the horn and flash the lights.1

Stolen Vehicle Assistance. If someone steals your car, call our OnStar advisors and give them the reference number the police gave you. The advisor will then provide the police with the location and prevent your car from being restarted so it can be recovered.1

Vehicle Diagnostics.Whenever you want, you can ask OnStar to remotely check some of the key systems of your car like engine, transmission, emissions or airbags. If you wish, OnStar can also send you a monthly e-mail with those key data.1

Destination Download. Searching for an alternative route, a restaurant, a petrol station or anywhere else you might need? Just press the Service Button! Our advisors will provide you with the address. They can automatically download the location to your Opel’s navi-gation system.1,3

ENGINES AND TRANSMISSIONS.The quality of Opel engines is another convincing argument for the Astra Notchback. Whichever one you choose, reliable engineering is guaranteed. The extra-efficient 1.6 l units come with the ecoFLEX Technology Pack and Enhanced Eco Drive Assist that cut your CO2 emissions as low as 94 g/km for the 81 kW (110 hp) diesel variant. The powerful 103 kW (140 hp) 1.4 Turbo LPG runs on both petrol and autogas.
