I apologize for contacting you with a letter, but due to the number of résumés received, an informational letter was the best way for us to contact everyone. We are currently looking for a permanent employee who is interested in full-time work. The candidate should enjoy working in a small office environment that requires working individually and as part of a team. Initial weekly hours during the two to three month training period would be 25 to 32 per week, with potential for 35 to 38 hours/week. The typical workweek is Monday through Friday (Monday is a split shift 9-plus-hour day; Tuesday through Friday are 4-hour days initially and would increase to 7-hour days). The main work location is north Portland (Monday morning/afternoon and Tuesday through Friday afternoon), but work will be performed throughout the Portland metropolitan area (late Monday evening and Tuesday through Friday afternoon occasionally). The job requires excellent English grammar and some use of a reliable personal vehicle (mileage is reimbursed). The pay rate is up to $10.00/hour, depending on experience. Requirements: Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency (Our office utilizes Microsoft Word, Access, & Excel; Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat, & Distiller; CorelDraw; Ventura; Internet; Outlook) Must have excellent customer-service skills, both on the phone and in person Must be able to multi-task Must have good time-management skills Must be able to work within a deadline Must work with efficiency and organization Publication layout skills and knowledge of an Asian language a plus, but not required Use of personal vehicle required to oversee deliveries and for customer interaction Job duties/Responsibilities: Answering phones, mail, and e-mail; Customer Service (phone, in person); Web surfing; Typing (summarization, information processing); Scanning (information, photos, etc.); Processing outgoing mailings; Filing; Faxing; Organizing/setting-up for outgoing deliveries; Ad generation, processing, customer service, and follow up; Publication layout; Follow-up and customer service at delivery locations (requires late Monday evening availability); Receptionist duties; General office maintenance and cleaning. The position includes, but is not limited to, the above listed duties.
