1. The school hosted the DAV Principals’ Meet which was addressed by
Hon’ble Sir Shri Shrideep Omcheri and Mrs. Nisha Peshin, Director, PS
III DAVCMC. Our magnanimous Sir proposed and sponsored a debate
competition in English and Hindi with Rs. 1 lac as award money. The
Radha Krishnan debate project has been very successfully executed.
2. Sir gave a motivational talk to teachers on the occasion of Rejuvenation –
a series of seminars for teachers. Giving examples from his personal
experiences he conveyed the message that each child had something
unique and it was for the teacher to tap the potential and exploit it to the
fullest.
3. Mrs. Madhu and Mr. Shrideep Omcherri, distributed prizes to class XII
toppers, subjectwise highest marks scorers and 51 students for securing
above 90%. He also felicitated those who had secured commendable ranks
in competitive exams.
4. Chairman Sir released the school result bulletin ASMITA. He gave an
inspiring address to students in which he motivated them to reach great
heights of success through passion and perseverance.

• Archa Gulati of class XII was among 80 students selected from India by
CBSE for visit to Japan under the Japan East Asia Network of Exchange
for students and youth programme (JENESYS) 2011. The trip has
unfolded new horizons and has been an enriching and memorable
experience for her.
• Our school has been a member of Face to Faith – Global Schools Program
in association with Tony Blair Faith Foundation UK. Face to Faith Day
contest was organised for Indian Schools. Our entry has been selected
among top 15 schools from a total of 90 schools from all over India. The
teacher Coordinator Mrs. Neeta Chhabra has been selected to attend the
NATIONAL INTERFAITH YOUTH CONFERENCE to be held at
Ahlcon International School, New Delhi from 19th
to 21st Dec. 2011.
• The school received a set of 100 books from Mrs. Sally Roemer, wife of
US Ambassador Mr. Timothy Roemer, accompanied by Secretary of
Culture Mr. Jawhar Sircar and Mrs. Shailaja Chandra, Chairperson of
Delhi Public Library Board in a ceremony at the American Centre. The
books are part of a select set gifted by First Lady Michelle Obama to Mrs.
Gursharan Kaur during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to
Washington DC in November 2009 and symbolize the friendship between
the two countries. The school was one of the 10 Delhi Schools to receive
the set.

Office International Examination organized by India Cyber Learning.

India winners in the middle category i.e. classes VI, VII and VIII. She
received a cash award of Rs. 1000/- and a certificate from Smt. Anshu
Vaish, Secretary, School Education and Literacy, Ministry of HRD and

• 13 students of class XI participated in INSPIRE Internship programme
2011 organised by D S Kothari Centre for Research and Innovation in
Science Education, Miranda House, University of Delhi. The students
attended talks by eminent scientists and conducted experiments in the labs
of Miranda House College. The valedictory address was given by Dr. John
P Holdren, Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology
Policy and Co-Chair of the President Obama’s Council of Advisors on
Science and Technology (PCAST) and chaired by Prof. Dinesh Singh, Vice
Chancellor, University of Delhi.
• Payal, Sukriti and Sumedha of class XI have been selected on the basis of
their top scores in Science in class X exam to visit CSIR (Council of
Scientific and Industrial Research) for a research based – hands on
experience work in the lab.
• Aakash Jain was nominated for Dharam Hinduja Scholarship of Rs.
2000/- by Hinduja Foundation.
• 20 students of NDPL club received prizes and certificates from NDPL for
their efforts in reducing consumption of electricity under neighbourhood
campaign programme.

• Two faculty members Ms. Neeta Chhabra and Mrs. Bharti Pant
successfully completed the E-Learning Certificate Course on
Environmental Education by TERI-Delhi. The programme is endorsed
by UNESCO as part of UN Decade for Sustainable Development.
• Supervisory Incharges Mrs. Neelam Talwar and Mrs. Veena Taneja
received Best Teacher Awards from Lions Club International.
• Mrs. Rekha Sachdeva was conferred the National Award for Spiritual
Education by 2011 World Spiritual Parliament.
• Mrs. Niti Kanva was awarded certificate for participation in Global
Experiment and Commitment to the goals of the International Year of
Chemistry by UNESCO and IUPAC.
• Mrs. Geeta Gupta and Mrs. Rita Anand have been selected as Resource
Persons for video conferencing and for paper setting and sample paper
designing of class XI Accounts and Commerce subjects.

• The school played host to 45 Principals from all over India as part of a
case study under the XII Management Development 5 days Programme
on Leadership in Educational Administration for Principals of CBSE
affiliated schools by NEUPA. The visit aimed to provide a platform to
share the initiatives taken by the school to provide holistic development to
students.
• The school hosted the second meeting of the Special Committee
constituted to promote art and culture, education, physical fitness and
community service under the aegis of Manav Kalyan Sansthan. Around
70 members of Directorate of Education, Educationists, Managers,
Principals and Teachers attended the meeting. The Chief Guest on the
occasion was Shri S. Reghunathan, Ex-Chief Secretary and the Principal
Patron of the Committee. Some other dignitaries who graced the meeting
were Mrs. Pushpa Kumari, Director, MCD, Mrs. Anita Setia, Deputy
Director, Directorate of Education, Mr. Mahesh Sharma, Ex Mayor,
Deputy Chairman, MCD, Mrs. Usha Rani, Deputy Director, Directorate
of Education, Dr. Vimlesh, Education Officer and Dr. A.K. Bindra,
President, Manav Kalyan Sansthan.

• A two days Chemistry Workshop – Vision 2011 was organized under the
aegis of NPSC, to mark the ‘International Year of Chemistry’. Teachers
from 50 schools participated in this workshop. Eminent scientists – Dr.
S.C. Dutta, Dr. Rita Kakkar, Dr. G.S. Sodhi (Khalsa College), Dr. Sunita
Dhingra (Miranda House) Dr. K.N. Upadhyaya, Dr. H.O. Gupta and Mrs.
Aruna Popli – were the expert resource persons. The main aim of the
workshop was to evolve aspects about modern techniques in teaching and
learning chemistry, to shift to Microscale Chemistry and make students
sensitive towards environment. Another objective of the workshop was to
discuss important questions and prepare a question bank for classes XI
and XII.
• The school hosted the Vishisht Pariksha avam Bharat Darshan
programme under the aegis of Arya Vidya Sabha, DAVCMC. Nearly 150
students and 50 teachers from all over India stayed in the school premises
and were taken out for sight-seeing to India gate, Connaught Place, Metro
Walk etc. A cultural programme organized by the school began with the
auspicious hawan followed by Saraswati Vandana and Ved Mantra dance
recital. The Chief Guests on the occasion were Mr. Mohan Lal,
Secretary, Arya Vidya Sabha, DAVCMC and Shri S.C. Gupta, Vice
Chairman of the school. The students appeared for the national
scholarship exam in the school.

• An Interschool Poster Making event was organized under the aegis of
IQF. Rtd. IPS Officer, Mr. Debasis Bagchi was the Chief Guest on the
occasion. 42 students from 21 neighbourhood schools participated in
Junior and Senior categories. The topic announced on the spot was
“Freedom from corruption” for both the categories. Maharaja Agrasen
School and Sachdeva Public School, Rohini bagged the first prizes in
senior and junior categories while DLDAV School, Pitampura, and Bal
Bharati Public School, Rohini, were adjudged second each.
• An array of Interschool competitions CROSSROADS 2011 was organized
with the aim of fostering creativity and innovation, honing interpersonal
skills and exploring talent. Nearly 400 students from 30 schools
participated in the event. Shri P.I. Sabu, Regional Officer, CBSE, Sh.
S.C. Gupta, Vice Chairman and Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Manager were guests
on the occasion. The host school was declared first for overall Best
Performance but the Trophy was awarded to DAV, Pushpanjali for
securing overall second highest marks.
• A two days seminar was organised for Nursery and Primary Teacher of
DAV Schools to discuss new teaching trends and methodologies.
• A seminar was held on ‘Autism’for counsellors of DAV Schools under the
aegis of DAVCMC.

• Parth Puri, a promising Taekwondo Champion, has been playing at
International and National level. In an open International contest he won
gold medals in Taekwondo, Kick Boxing and Self Defence.
• Sandhya of class XI has brought glory to school by her selection in Rugby
Team for the next Asian Games. She is the youngest player in the team.

• Paryavision – Earth Day was organized by holding activities and
competitions for different classes with the theme – Sustainable
Development, Live and Let Live and Conserve and Flourish, Destroy and
Perish. The two week long celebrations were inaugurated by Mrs. Rekha
Gupta, Municipal Councellor, in a special assembly. A number of
dignitaries graced the valedictory function. They included Shri S.C.
Gupta, Vice Chairman of the School, Dr. Leena Srivastava, Executive
