Memories can be somewhat hurtful especially if you had special moments with your past lover. It doesn't mean that they are named as your 'Ex' that they were never once important to you before.

They might even changed your life and you are now a better person than before because of them. Its just that things didn't work out as a couple for you too. There are a lot of "Maybes" that we can't figure out why things didn't work out. And here are some of the possible list that it didn't:

 

-Feelings changed. if you have reached at this stage when you are not sure about what you feel about your partner. Then this could affect your relationship because its like your are having doubts with what you have and feel. It is like you are thinking whether you still love them, or are you just holding on to someone you don't really think that you will spend the rest of your life with. This is one of the things that would later on end up a relationship.

-Arguments. Normal couple fights over something, sometimes the more a couple fights, the more they love each other. But when the fights are getting useless and pointless, that is the time when you and your lover is growing apart.

This will not only affect your relationship in the present but also the past and your future. So if you are having endless arguments with your partner and carelessly ends the fight, you are about to face a problem of having to end a relationship.

-False actions. This would consider cheating, lying, hurting, or any bad things that might end up losing a used to be nice and special relationship. We can't avoid hurting our lover, sometimes we don't intend to but if you hurt the one you love,this would really affect your relationship because this will affect your trust to one another. Especially if it involves cheating with your partner, and telling things that are not true.

But in all of these, if it ended up in a wrong way, then its normal if you might miss your ex lover or you can't stop thinking about them.

In life there are always the same question that starts with "What if?" What if you just forgive each other without breaking up, what if you two ended up together? What if he/she didn't cheat on you or lied to you? Just think of it this way, things happens for a reason, it might be for the better or worst. But you need to accept that you have to move on with your life and make things work for you if things didn't work out before.
