Tuesday’s Children is a non-profit family service organization that has made a long-term commitment to every individual directly impacted by the events of September 11, 2001 and more recently those who have been impacted by terrorist incidents worldwide.

Since 2001, Tuesday’s Children has promoted healing and recovery by strengthening family resilience, providing individual coping and life management skills and creating community through programs, mental health support and family engagement opportunities.

Dear Friends of Tuesday’s Children,

More than 10 years after the tragic events of September 11, 2001 irrevocably changed our lives, I am pleased to present our annual report documenting our abiding commitment to offer support services to families and children who lost an loved one, families of responders, and children from around the world impacted by terrorism.

The needs of our families continue to surface and evolve.

Our 2011 survey showed that 98% of parents in bereaved families and 93% in responder families are anxious about their children’s long-term health, especially mental and emotional health. 71% of bereaved families and 88% ofresponder families are concerned that services will decline after the 10th anniversary. Families in both populations are still requesting mental health and other supportive services.

Despite this documented, ongoing need, funding for 9/11 programs has drastically diminished in recent years. The 10th anniversary was poignant for all our families, but we know this is not the last of it.

We remain steadfast in our pledge to continue to meet the needs of 9/11 families throughout their lives.

Tuesday’s Children’s innovative platform of programs is specifically designed to build resilience, promote a sense of belonging, build community, and supply the life management tools and parenting skills that are critical for the successful progression into a happy and healthy future for each and every one of our families.

As we look beyond the 10th anniversary, we renew our commitment to support those families who lost so much, and to help others around the globe who face similar tragedy. We hope our friends and supporters will continue to help us in years to come so that we can “Keep the Promise” we made a decade ago to help children impacted by 9/11 become remarkable adults.

Thank you for your enduring dedication to Tuesday’s Children.

Warmest regards,

W H O W E S E RV EIn any tragedy, we memorialize those who are lost; but we must never lose sight of, and do all we can for, those who are left. They are our most important living memorials, and can become our most valuable ambassadors.

W H E R E W E A R E G O I N GWe know that grief is permanent. It changes over time, but it is never gone. For 9/11 children and their families, grieving is not over. For responders and their families, their challenges are abundant. We will continue to provide the support and programs our families need. Helping all of our families recover and reach their full potential is a commitment we have made at Tuesday’s Children. We will Never Forget.

“ Tuesday’s Children efforts to be there for all the families, to institute thoughtful and meaningful programs, and to really listen to us makes the healing easier and, most importantly, of greater quality.”

— A Tuesday’s Chilren Mom
