GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENTS 26th NATIONAL BRIDGE
BUILDING COMPETITION
1. The competition is open to all PICE Student Chapter
Members in good standing.
2. A team shall consist of not more than 5 members per student chapter. PICE membership ID and school ID of team members must be presented. School ID of team members must be worn during the duration of the competition.
3. Team members must be registered participants in the 20th
National Civil Engineering Students’ Conference.
4. Registration fee of PhP1,000.00 shall be charged per team. Submit the entry form and the requirements to the PICE National Office by 5:00 PM on November 17, 2017. Membership will be validated as soon as the registration form is received.
5. Mechanics of the competition
5.1 The team shall construct the model bridge within three (3) hours, on the spot, at the designated venue and date.
5.2 Materials to be used will be announced and supplied by the PICE National at the start of the competition.
5.3 All specific details will be announced during the competition proper. The main criterion of selecting the winner is the strength-to-weight ratio.
5.4 Once the bridge has been submitted for testing, nobody is allowed to neither move nor alter any part. Only two members of the team shall be allowed to assist the judges during the testing.
6. Awards for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd winning teams shall be given. Cash prizes shall be given to the winning teams: 1st – PhP30,000.00, 2nd – PhP20,000.00 and 3rd – PhP15,000.00 respectively.
A Special Prize of PhP10,000.00 will be given to the entry with the BEST AESTHETICS.
7. The decision of the Board of Judges shall be final.
